Xilica XP-4080

I have this connected with two RME DACs for two monitoring zones with left and right channels each. With 8 channels out I have it feeding the two monitoring zones themselves, their respective sub-woofer and another third zone with left and right signals. It's flexibility is amazing. The build quality and finish is great too.

The sound, (if you leave everything direct), is very clean and totally transparent as if it does not exist. But if you want to alter the sound you have many and many options. EQ, gains, channel mix, crossovers and more.

I was a bit worried about it overheats before I got it and tested it for hours. After 1 hour plus it was slightly warm to the touch, mainly towards it right side, near the power cable input, but it nothing to worry about.

Now to the slightly bad aspect of it. The menus, if you use the built in screen it is a bit difficult and the experience is not very nice. That is why I ordered the XP version, because I knew I would not like it small screen and menu/options system, however ones you connect it to the network, install the software and control it via PC, the experience becomes so nice and the only negative thing I can find on this device just vanishes away,

I just wish it the ability to change the background colour of the screen, apart from that , this is the perfect device I needed, it totally satisfied my needs and I would recommend this Xilica product without a doubt.

Dieser Kontroller hat mein älteres Verstärkerrack mit zwei 2-Kanalendstufen deutlich aufgewertet. Vorher war nur ein 2In/4Out Analogkontroller mit wechselbaren Einschüben drin. Alle vier Kanäle können nun unabhängig voneinander kontrolliert werden. Zum Beispiel: je ein Kanal für Links, Rechts, Sub und Monitor.

Die Konfiguration mittels Windows-PC ist recht intuitiv. Die Mac-Software ist zur Zeit noch merklich schlechter, deshalb habe ich die nicht im Detail ausprobiert. Die Kontrollereinstellungen am Gerät vornehmen zu wollen halte ich für einen Anwenderfehler, deshalb habe ich auch das nicht ausprobiert.

Der Controller hat alle Features die man braucht. Für die Weichenkonfiguration wären Hartmann Filter halt noch schön.

N.B. Zum Ausmessen der Frequenzkorrekturen des vorhanden Kontrollers habe ich REW von hometheatershack benutzt.
