After trying the Warwick red label strings a few times (and being impressed with the results), I decided to give the black label version a try. I believe the difference in the strings is that were the black label strings are 'handmade' the red label counterpart's manufacture is fully automated.
To compare these strings to the red labels, I would say that these are of a higher quality, with a cleaner bottom end and a more 'zingy' high end. You could describe the tone as 'piano-like'.
I would recommend these strings to anyone who is seeking a bright modern bass tone with the advantage of consistency between each set that other string manufacturers don't seem to be able to provide. These strings are a step up from the red labels and the price is very reasonable for the quality of string provided.
These Warwick strings are very bright and metal sounding. Especially with a pick u could achieve a very crystal sound. The feel of the string is very raw. Soundwise I like those string especially as the keep the brigth sound very well. With heavy use the string can be used for about 2-3 month till they start to sound dull. What I dont like about those strings is the raw feeling. I prefer a smoother string. I would recommend this sting to every bass player that neeeds a bright sounding string and has no problem with the raw feeling of the string. Greetings
