Great sounds, good value and ultra compact
Nijoho, 21.06.2018
This is booster/overdrive pedal. Apparently a Klon clone, but as I've never had a Klon, let's just consider it on its own merits.

Firstly, it's not True Bypass, but there are some claims that the bypass buffer improves tone even when the device is off. Let's just say this must be very subtle, because I really don't hear any difference. Maybe you will, pretty sure your audience won't. But I like this as an "always-on" pedal, that juices things up a bit all the time, and in that role, it really excels.

If you back off the gain control, the volume control is going to work like a booster. It's not really a clean boost, and there is definitively some nice (but restrained) lower mid increase, leading to that "your guitar, only better" feeling. The volume control has plenty on tap to push my amps in to great tones.

We also have the Gain control, which will bring in some overdrive from the pedal, and its a wonderful thing to behold (or hear). Rich, warm and open. Plenty of overdrive here for my needs - very often I'm just using it to add a bit of breakup - but it might not be enough for other peoples tastes. Its does seem to stack well with other pedals, though.

The small enclosure is handy, its super simple to use, and very easy to find plenty of great tones. Oh, and the gold livery looks great on my pedalboard too (yes, I am that shallow).

Negatives?

- No True Bypass. Mine's almost always on anyway, so not something I worry about, but if it's a deal breaker, take a look at the Deluxe version of this pedal.
- The blue LED is maybe too bright.
- No battery power possible.
- Its small to the point of the controls being fiddly to use.

A Very Flexible Pedal
Johnny Boy, 23.05.2019
I use this pedal as a fairly clean boost for my American and British style pedals. It works well with both of them. The knobs are a little on the small side and respond to small amounts of adjustment so it's a little fiddley to fine tune but great sounds can be had.

Excellent overdrive with the legendary low-mid hump and Wampler's specret ingredient of added tight bass. Makes things sound clearer and louder and oh so sweet, as a good boost should!

The pedal has excellent jacks (tight fitting), which is nice, but the casing seems a bit less durable and heavy than almost all of my "cheap" chinese pedals (joyo, donner, tone city). so I was a bit surprised about that, but it seems robust enough for regular use.

maybe this thing is magic? nah, probably just excellent audio engineering and close attention to component tolerance ranges (quality) from Wampler.

I am very pleased with it, looking forward to years of fun!

Nice little Klon clone
DShustov, 21.03.2019
Did not try original (obviously), but pedal sounds good. Clean boost, or smooth standalone overdrive.

Pros:
Versatile clone of legendary pedal in small enclosure. And design is nice too

Cons:
Hard to fine tune knobs, because pedal is so small.

Didn't do it for me
18.03.2016
Having read so many great reviews on this pedal I said I would take a chance on it. I tried my best to like this pedal but it just sounds muddy to my ears and removed too much high end. I am using it as a low gain overdrive so maybe that was my problem as this is used as a clean boost more than anything else.

More than a clone !
Yanev, 10.11.2018
As we all know that this pedal is meant to capture the sound of a well-known legendary pedal, I'd just like to say that it does it fair justice and even more ! Great to use either as a slight boost to your sound or cranking it up for some great overdrive with sweet harmonics. Goes perfetctly well with various amps I tried it with - Marshalls, Vox Ac30, Fenders, it's just so transparent and keeps your basic tone from the amp, but enriches it in a wonderful way ! Definitely worth the price !!
