Valid as a first multieffect pedal
Plick, 19.05.2019
I wanted to try some effects with my bass without breaking the bank, to hear what it sounds like. I wasn't sure how a phaser or a flanger would sound with a bass, so before to spend €100 or so I went for this.

So, for a start I went for this multieffect pedal, which is quite well equipped. It brings Chorus, Phaser, Flanger, Tremolo, Delay and Reverb and two presets mixing Delay+Reverb and Chorus+Delay+Reverb. You even have two versions of each of the mentioned effects having all together about 16 of them.

It is quite convenient as all of

There are, for most of the effects, the following controls: effect Blend/Mix with dry signal, very convenient so you can have an effect with very high settings, but for a moderate use you can mix both signals, dry and with effect. Then you have depth/feedback, and time, like how profound you want the effect, very deep or quite shallow; and time is for the speed: think of a delay or a tremolo, the amount of effect repetition.

Then for all effects are high and low tone controls, and for dealy is an extra control, which is tap: you can decide the repetition of the effect according with your song tempo by hold the main switch button and then tapping the button several times following the rithm.

The down side is I cannot use several effects at the same time apart from the mix already set (effects 7 and 8). I would have liked to use the Tremolo with Reverb or Flanger with Delay but not possible; the only combinations are the mentioned above.

An avantage and a disavantage at the very same time is the size, which is quite small (good) but it makes very difficult to change from one effect to another in the same song, also a tiny pause in the sound is audible. So it has to be changed with the hand (no foot option) so I cannot see the practical side here.

Also, instead effect names you'll find numbers in the up side, which you can check at the side of the pedal, but not very convenient in the middle of a gig with lack of light conditions.

Knobs or pots are quite small (because pedal is small size = advantage) and they look and feel flimsy, not like overal construction of the pedal which is robust. They are lighted (nice touch) but even so, the white marker are not the most visible thing on earth.

Last, with a bass plugged some of the effects are too much even with minimun settings make them unusable (with a guitar I found Phaser B or red and Chours+Delay B or red quite uncontrollable, very muddy), but luckly you have two options of every effect, at least one of them works ok.

All in all, I think for the price I would recommend it, if you are ok with a limited or regular quality (just some effect touch here and there). Go for a multieffects with more buttons and settings if you want more quality and versatility or a good pedal for each effect if you have the money and want real quality.
