Serves the required purpose for relatively low gain condenser microphone.
Robert8105, 19.03.2019
I have a particular condenser microphone that needs a high gain setting on my mixer's preamp, and so has a tendency to cause noise because of the near maximum setting. The FetHead Phantom was the answer because this in-line microphone booster takes its power from the phantom power supplied by the mixer at source and in so doing the FetHead's energised circuits enable about + 18dB further gain to be inserted at the right point. The whole purpose of the device is then achieved because it means the mixer gain rotary switch was advanced to a lesser point than without the FetHead and so noise was eliminated.
The Triton FetHead was cheaper than some rivals and effective for my purposes although no comparisons were made with other makes.

... and rescuers in situations with weak (quiet, barely audible) signals. The TritonAudio FetHead Phantom finds its field of activity in field recording and does more than "actually" expected - it amplifies reliably (stronger / cleaner) the applied input signal and allows low-noise recording. So far tested combinations of Zoom H4 / F4 and Sound Devices MixPre-6 with Sennheiser MKE 600 / Sennheiser ME67 / Shure VP 89S / Rode NTG2 were convincing !!! "Smiley" -the anthill is alive and bumblebee trolled by bumblebee "smile".
Unintentionally borrowed for use on the Tascam DR-60D MkII with connected the t.bone EM 9600 and a noise level of 87 dB came a differentiated recording concluded !!!!!!! ... I think it is no longer positive.

Modified MS microphone technology in a win guard Containers can be boosted using a TritonAudio FetHead Phantom in stereo pair (just a mic with TritonAudio FetHead Phantom).

The TritonAudio FetHead Phantom is in my opinion a convincing product for field recording, hardly any weight, weather (humidity) and climate proof (temperature jump of 30 degrees Celsius from plus to minus), easy handling, no additional energy source needed, maintenance free.

Disadvantage? the only glued-on logo removes minimal weight in field recording and some AKG models require slipping over a slightly thicker O-ring to avoid wobbling of the XLR connector.
At zoom h4 it comes (hopefully only in my) in combination with the AKG P170 and Sennheiser E614 to an unclean interference in the frequency range around 18000 hz, both in battery operation of, as well as operated with external power bank Zoom H4.

Conclusion - a tool that convinces and hardly matters. Reliable and almost universal to micros-try an error and give it back.
