The ultimate tool...!!!

Always had trouble with programming my own drums for tracks. This product is bang on!!! Wish it had been around 20 years ago. Easy to use, brilliant sounds & pre-sets. Not messed with the mixer much yet so will be interested to see how it compares against the Waves SSL 4000 plugins etc that I currently use but high hopes!!! - Additional note, had a slight issue with running this with Logic (which I think was probably user error...). Point of mentioning this is that the Toontrack help line is email only from what I can gather. I was concerned this would take days for a reply BUT they came straight back, were superb with their approach to the problem & I cannot recommend their attitude to customer service enough!!! I am running SD3 wit ha UA Apollo Twin on an iMac 2017 model. All suppliers have been excellent with their tech help & Thomann have been superb with their service a well - I made the mistake of ordering SD3 Metal Foundry on DVD instead of download & Thomann have arranged for the return with no hassle & a superb approach (REALLY impressed as it was MY fault for clicking the wrong box - perils of late night ordering).

Use these guys & you will, in my experience, NOT be disappointed!!!!!

Very easy to get a grip off, massive variety in kits and samples. Midi grooves make it quick and easy to get the basis of a song in the DAW. Even if your not familiar with drums, it's very easy and quick to grasp. The 250gb download is huge and does take a long time to finish, it's no secret that this is a disc space monster, but it's worth it.

Great for acoustic drum kit programming and triggering but...

The giant library has great acoustic kits but lacks in modern sounds. Essentially no percussion, very difficult to use imported wav samples of your own. Trigger function is excellent. Plugins and effects for the mixer are not. Needs much more variety in the kits and recorded space, user interface is confusing and inconsistent.

Yes, it's very expensive and gets even more so if you buy (and you will) some extension packs, but it's damn good. Not only it sounds impressive, but the midi feature is amazing and a terribly great help in writing drum parts.
Great piece of software.
