I have struggled for years with poor thumb position when playing clarinet, and since starting music college have started to suffer pain when playing. This thumb rest has changed all of this as it is very comfortable and supports your thumb whilst also letting your fingers rest in the correct position. It was very easy to fit, and whilst"snapping" the thumb rest on / off can be a little disconcerting at first, you soon get used to this.

Also recommended for oboe
I recommend to anyone who has pain in the thumb, arm or shoulder, this thumb holder. I have tested this model as well as the "Maestro 2" on my oboe (Fratelli Patricola S3) and am thrilled with "Etude 3", which I then decided. The bracket can be easily installed in the existing holes (on 3 different heights). The thumb support is then pushed onto the holder (easier, faster removal at any time). Now a comfortable height for the thumb can be found in 15 smaller steps by snapping. Finally, a "screwdriver" can be steplessly adjusted by means of a "screwdriver", which passes over the middle thumb bone, on which most of the weight rests (very pleasantly padded). Of course it is necessary to try different settings here! But I am convinced that by the very differentiated adjustment possibilities almost everyone can find his individual thumb position, which (as with me happen) after many years finally a pain-free play.
