A
Perfect for 2 Elektron deveices
Anonymous 18.05.2016
This is what I pack in this bag

Main compartment
- Elektron Analog Four with PL-2 Cover
- Elektron Rytm with PL-2 Cover

Side poket (the big one)
- 2 x power supplied

Front pocket (big one)
- 2 x brightside E-RM wooden stands. That's 2 pairs
- 2 x elektron usb cables
- 2 x patch cables
- 1 midi cable

Top compartment (upper zip / lid)
- external harddrive
- Sennheiser HD 25 headphones

Yes, the 2 elektrons appear to fit tight in the main compartment, but they slide in comfortably. Once, just once the rubber padding came off one of the elektrons while pulling it out from the bag, but then i wasn't careful enough as I was in a hurry. But that's the only thing you need to take care of. As I see it, it's a rubber pad, you can stick it back :). I use the stands anyway, so the rubber pads are least of my worries.

For this price, compactness and durability, I haven't found anything better.

S
Great backpack, and not just for producers!
Schengis 26.06.2019
I bought this backpack for my mobile recording rig, but I ended up finding many other uses for it. This comfortably fits my laptop, interface (focusrite 2i4), midi controller (Akai MPK mini mkII), cables, mics, sustain pedal, and a mouse and numpad. Granted, it was stuffed to the brim, but the point is that everything that was necessary fit inside without feeling like i was going to crush anything.

The main pocket is the best. The padding is more than sufficient and the size makes it perfect for a business backpack too. Laptops, books, and papers fit perfectly and snugly (so not much risk of unwanted folds or wrinkles).

I also use this as a gig/instrument repair bag. I drum in my current band, but I'm also responsible for bringing extra equipment for emergencies or repairs (tools, cables, strings+winders, extra mics, picks, drum felts,). This bag makes it super easy to keep everything well organized and separated by function.

My only complaint is that it tends to stick out backwards quite a bit and I've accidentally hit a few people with it. It's not the most form-fitting backpack I've had, but it's meant to protect the contents.

Awesome little backpack.

Pack Your Bags

This wasn't exactly a planned purchase; I just thought it'd be handier to have a backpack to store all my accessories in instead of the usual shoe box. As a keyboardist I have a lot of them - a heap of cables, adapters, sustain/expression pedals, batteries, screwdrivers, duct tape etc. and I'm glad to say that I can fit them all in here, with room to spare. With a price as accessible as this it wasn't difficult to justify an impulse buy.

Needless to say, you can use this backpack for anything you'd like. There are lots of compartments - the main one can even take a 15-inch laptop, no problem. It isn't suitable for my Novation Bass Station 2 though so other users beware.

As for the build quality, there are some downsides. The zippers and straps especially are what I find lacking. The padding of the backpack, on the other hand, is surprisingly thick.

m
handle broke after ten months
misterflibble 09.09.2020
This backpack is nearly identical to a M-Audio backpack I had donated away a few years ago. I regretted doing so, and sought out a replacement. I was very glad to find this bag, willing to pay the high shipping costs to the US. The bag was big enough to hold my 15” MacBook Pro and my Akai MPC Live plus a bunch of accessories.

Unfortunately, after only nine months of light use, I picked up the bag by the top strap yesterday, and the left side of the strap ripped off the bag. Not only did the top strap detach, but it ripped a hole in the right shoulder strap as it came off. I’m now worried to use the bag at all in case the right shoulder strap rips all the way through while I’m carrying the bag. I hoped Thomann would replace it, but after emailing their support, they said they only offer a thirty day warranty on this product. Needless to say, I’ll be ordering a different bag as a replacement.
