Thomann Portuguese Bouzouki Deluxe, made in Europe, solid spruce top, inlaid binding, soundhole with mother of pearl inlays, highgloss varnish, fingerboard made of Australian Blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon), neck made of mahagony, back and sides made of ovangkol.
I bought this instrument a year and half ago. After playing quite often and having a good feeling, a fissure appered in the box, in the front, Thomann told me to send it and check if the can repair it or not with the guarrantee service.......I sent it and then SURPISE!!!! Thomann wrote me to tell me the bouzouki is BROKEN by the neck, it's almost divided in two parts and of course this is not rapairable with the guarrantee I don?t know if that was a transport accident (they say no) or whatever. Thomann says that this is MY FAULT and the are going to do NOTHING to help me. I?m so dissapointed, I just wanted to repair a litle deffect and now I have no instrument anymore, they say they give me back, but of course broken, if I pay 35¤ for transport back. I still fight for it, I didn't give up yet, if something happens i will write again, I hope because of something possitive.
Unfortunately there was an error. Please try again later.
Better finish required
I ordered this bouzouki because of the wide neck. Other "factory" bouzoukis have too narrow neck for me. At first it seemed the bouzouki on the site to look good. However, after receiving revealed the following: - The spacing between the paired strings on the top nut is too large with the result that the instrument is not playable. The top paired string (the octave g) you will press the button down. - The neck was completely filled with due merely rattling strings. (Not verified for shipping?) - Two frets are not properly aligned (are too high) - The key was near the top utility cut frayed. In part this is some repair work, resolve areas of frets and tuning. But that is not the intention when you buy an instrument for that price.
All in all not a "value for money". Absolutely not recommendable.
