Depth for shallow pockets
Smooooth 26.06.2017
This instrument was purchased after seven years of work on the bass guitar, and another seven preceding spent longing after its orchestral antecedent. Instinctively, after many previous successful transactions, Thomann is now my default supplier for all musical necessities, and given my budget there was no reason for this to change in the case of an upright bass.

Delivery was well handled, with the driver needing no prompt to conduct the necessary checks for any damage ? needless to say there was none. The bass shipped with its soundpost in place, packed in a passable case. This is reasonably padded but unfortunately the sewing is too weak in the relevant places to bear a strap; it is important to note at this juncture that the endpin locks when at full extension and thus removing it for the addition of a wheel would be incredibly difficult. Bear this in mind with regard to planning transportation.

Properly set up for jazz by Thomann's workshop, fitting the bridge was a simple task made simpler by the inclusion of the appropriate marks. The strings provided are more than adequate, leaving no need to swap them out for Spirocores just yet. Overall, an astonishing piece for the price!

Preety good bass for the money
Miguelmgomes 19.10.2017
Bought this bass for use in live events, it seems to be a good product for the money.
Construction is good and feels like a solid bass, but the real surprise came with the natural sound.
Came with pizzicato/jazz setup made by thomann with no aditional cost.

Great value for the price

I was looking for a beginner double bass and I choose this based on the good reviews.
I wasn't disappointed.
The instrument has a very good tone and a good overall quality.
Invest some money in a good string set (I mounted Thomastik Spirocore light gauge) and it will be even better.
Only complaint: the tailpiece wire broke suddenly after a few weeks and I had to have it replaced by a luthier.
