not bad at all!!
Alexandre Mellet, 23.12.2012
A "loaded" type subwoofer.

I was curious to see how this sub was going to be able to develop such a level of acoustic pressure with "only" HP of 12 '... well, bravo to the designer of the enclosure, it works!

And not only it works in terms of acoustic pressure, but also in terms of bandwidth! The sub goes down very serious, although I will announce instead a bandwidth really effective from 35-36Hz rather than 28 ... but hey !! To descend efficiently to 35Hz, it is already of the "sub" serious I think !! Moreover, because of its design "pavillion", we have a distribution + homogeneous infras (less lobe and "hole" here At a particular location facing the diffusion).

The only big regret:

But OR have passed the castors fixing systems ??? With its size, its shape, and its weight .... the transport is a CALVARY !!! WHY then did not foresee this option, especially on the part of a brand having integrated it on ALL its other models of sub, as soon as they reach a certain weight? At that price, and with the call "pro" .... we would appreciate enough !!

Apart from this negative point, it is a very good product in terms of sound, offering the particularity of requiring "only" 800w RMS to operate, which is synomyme of: less electrical power required, less powerful amps and thus usually less Heavy AND cheaper to buy ....;)

Great basshorn
26.10.2016
I am a big music fan and occasionally and only as a hobby events with a PA.
I generally use only horns for the setup because I find that no direct-beam system reaches this vitality, dynamic and distortion-free of horns. The positive feedback of the musicians and DJ's after the events seems to me to be right there too.
As an engineer and hobbyist I have already calculated many horns and built myself.
When looking at Thomann ... what I occasionally do .. is the Achat 212 H sub noticed and I have, more to the fun first times and then ordered a second, at home and then synonymous times in the cluster of two at an event Had.
It's almost crazy, as Thomann creates, to offer such a good bassbox at this low price.
It is a real Exponential Horn with about 2 m horn length and 0.4 m² sound output surface. The horn is actually tuned for its small size much too low, which is why a box alone is not useful.
But if you place several directly as clusters next to each other, you get a really deep, impulsive and impressive bass, at an absolutely unbeatable price.
The claim that the box can only be operated up to 80 Hz, I can not confirm. I have got you up to 110 Hz (110 Hz Bessel 24db / oct / 30 Hz, Linkwitz Riley 48 db / Oct) and so comes a really nice kickbass.
Of course, I know better systems, but they are considerably larger and a x-fold more expensive than the Agate 212
Therefore absolute purchase recommendation from me and big praise to Thomann for the brave, elaborate and technically clever concept.
