Electric Guitar Effect PedalThe TC Chorus / Flanger is a true classic and is one of the most copied chorus sounds ever. This pedal is particularly impressive due to its flexibility and the analogue heat, which is unparalleled.

With the TC Electronic Vortex, a modern variant of the flanger section is now available. As with the model, the pedal is very luxuriously adjustable; the corona, however, is digital.

In addition to the usual controls (interesting here, the feedback control allows both negative as well as positive feedback), there is also a switch, which allows you to choose between Normal flanging, Tape flanger and Toneprint. The latter is the new TC Electronics feature: the TonePrint sounds and software updates can be called up via the Internet via USB - Possibly the future of music electronics?

The most important thing is that the sound sounds really warm and reminds us of the great model. From discreet floating sounds, Leslie-like songs to the popular jet fighter, everything that sounds good with such a flanger is covered.

Interesting

So far so good. I am pleased with the quality of all the TC products I have. This, like the Sentry Noise Gate, takes a little learning to get the absolute best out of. This Vortex in particular has a broad range of sounds, some of which are nuts and somewhat unusable for my taste, but the right settings sound great. Buffer or true bypass option with dip switch is a great an handy feature too!

Muy buen complemento!
Alfredo Musmeci 12.04.2021

Versatile flanger
Peter5655 22.10.2015
I primarily use this om bass and works just as well as the corona chorus (which I also own and use) I don't experiance any significant loss of low end at all. The controls allow for an extremely wide range of flanging sounds. The feedback and delay controls are very useful for fine-tuning the flange.
Allthough digital, it doesn't lack any warmth. It also goes well with distortions, overdrives and boosts. I so far haven't had any need to try out the tone-print feature. I don't expect this to be any less than useful though. I only find two negatives about this pedal. First the tape mode, which to me doesn't produce any major difference in sound apart from when adjusting the delay. Second, the many options this pedal has in offer could make it hard to decide on which awesome flange to use.
