TC ForceField first impressions

Damian692, 03.06.2017
this is built rock solidly like a tank , controls are rugged and has the soft click switch (nice) . Has the promise of many years of use with little wear and tear. It's reassuring solidness is the first thing that hit me as being at odds with its very cheap price , some of the chinese made pedals are very flimsy and I've had several of them fail . I reckon you could use the forcefield to hammer in nails with :)

Apparently its based on ibanez cp-9 ( If I'm wrong blame google)

I currently use a wampler ego compressor which has a lot more controls than the forcefield , and is quite flexible as a result but I do spend time fiddling too many options at times.
I'm looking at putting together a quick grab and go board and the forcefield seems to be the contender . Its not perfectly quiet of course but not bad at all.
I tend to use compression as an always on effect for clean playing with single coil fenders and sometimes in front of overdrive/distortion to push them a bit harder with humbuckers/single coils.

I like the forcefield you get a LOT of pedal for your 49 euro, I'm giving serious consideration to selling on my wampler.

Can not do much - but good!

Henk S, 15.11.2017
Abstract: There are now more elaborate Kopressor pedals than the "Forcefield". But they are also much more expensive. For simple applications, I can only recommend the TC Forcefield! Especially at the price!

Now in a long time.

In advance: I tested the Forcefield compressor with a 5 Watt tube amplifier and different electric guitars (single coils and humbuckers).

EQUIPMENT - PROCESSING - OPERATION
The Forcefield compressor has three controls:
"Sustain" - controls the amount of compression
"Attack" - controls how quickly or abruptly the compression starts
"Volume" - controls the output volume

All controls are pleasantly sluggish and can also be easily adjusted with the foot. The case is made of sheet metal, everything looks stable, nothing slips or wobbles. The True Bypass Footswitch works without "clack" noise. Excellent!

SOUND - APPLICATION
Although the Forcefield is a relatively simple compressor, it offers a variety of ways to shape the sound. From the very subtle "frittering" (especially good at single coils) to the "plopping" compressor sound. Certainly not a studio compressor, but great for popular (live) applications to use. I prefer to use the compressor and, above all, to give clean single-coil sounds a bit more fullness and sustain.

A few more words, because I hear and read again and again, the compressor would "NOISE":
A compressor naturally makes loud sounds quieter and quieter sounds louder. Accordingly, background noise and noise in the signal path are amplified. So if it suddenly sounds perceptibly when the compressor is switched on, then that most likely (!) Does not come from the compressor pedal itself. But the compressor makes only the noise louder or audible, what about pickups, cables, other effect devices, etc. already in the signal path is available.

CONCLUSION
All expectations fulfilled. Top! Given the relatively low price especially for beginners and Ausprobiererinnen a great option.
