A better multichannel headphone amp

Very versatile connections. The construction seems solid. The volume control settings are a bit difficult to read under dim lighting. The audio quality is a big upgrade to our former inexpensive unit and altogether pretty great. The output is relatively loud and the unit handles high level input quite well but there is audible distortion in the outputs with volume setting above 2 o'clock.

I am very disappointed.

1. Correct, mechanical processing has been completely neglected and disregarded. Neither the headphone jacks nor the rotary potentiometer have been fitted with fuse nuts! Although there are threads there, the headphone jacks were soldered only on the board surface.
After many changes of headphone plugs, the solder pads break out of the circuit board surface, since they are not able to withstand the mechanical load of the levers of the long 6.3 mm jack plug. There are inevitably defects on the circuit board surface, by breaking out the soldering points on the headphone jack and the channel drops out. The solder eyes are much too small for this.

2. The interference suppression of input 1 and input 2 is much too low.
If a feed-forward signal has been connected to both inputs 1 and 2,
and stops input 1 when there silence prevails, one hears clearly according to the volume setting, clearly audible the input signal 2 from the headphones. An absolute no go for a 400, - EUR headphone amplifier of a "good" brand.

In the next Revison belongs a second plate for screwing the headphone jacks and rotary potentiometer into the housing. And the board layout with its "thousand" bridges should be redesigned again to eliminate the crosstalk effects. No purchase recommendation.
