Excellent

I bought this to use with my Tama Cocktail Jam kit and it works very well for small acoustic gigs coupled with a pair of 12 inch hi-hat cymbals. And it is very light; with two cymbal stands from the same series they don't weigh much more than my 'full size' hi hat!

Hard vs. Vs. light
Surfkoala, 17.10.2018
For many, many years, I played the Eliminator machine from Pearl's first series. The current model of Pearl costs around ¤ 300. The hi-hat machine is still running top, but is now on my Übeset in the basement.

The Tama HH55F Classic hi-hat stand has been on my rehearsal room and gig set for several months now. The reason for the purchase was primarily the low weight. The difference to the Pearl stand is huge!

function
I am more than happy with the Tama stand. He's running really well. I'm not the adjuster. Unpack, build, play .... worked for me. The adjustment mechanism seems to me brilliantly simple, but I have not used it, as written, yet.

stability
I often play 15 "heavy hi-hats (top 1150gr, bottom 1250gr) and have no stability issues, the stand moves more like the super-stable Pearl stand while playing, but it does not bother me at all." If I'm not looking, notice I no difference.

mass
I transport the stand in my hardware case. Open, throw in, unpack. So far no defects detectable. And the weight is really a step forward. My hardware case, in which now only light flatbase stands are located, I now get alone up and down the stairs, which was previously only possible with dangers to health.

durability
The Pearl stand appears unbreakable. How long the Tama stand will last, I can not say now. The good price, the running characteristics and the comfort gained by the low weight are reason enough for me to give the stand a chance.

Conclusion: buy recommendation
