Good effects

playingear, 07.12.2017
I have had the Mercury Flanger for 1 week or so. At first I struggled to find the sounds for the Chorus algorithm, also available with the Flanger (or Gemini Chorus or Lunar Phaser) but then I found a published preset that allowed me to get a lush sound.
I think there is still a lot to dig into in this pedal. The casing and buttons feel solid and quality.
I am satisfied - the Pedal can do a lot more than Flanger and it would integrate well if one had more Source Audio gear, particularly Hub - but this is not necessary if you just want a few presents on one pedal alone.

EDIT: I chose to return the product because the Tone and Mix knobs of the Gemini Chorus are not on the Flanger (which has Depth and Delay) - though one can with the App change these, I wanted to change them on the fly and thus I am returning and considering a Gemini Chorus instead, in the hopes tweakability will be simpler on the fly - and maybe a game changer thus making the Gemini Chorus a keeper

You get more than you initially suspect ...

Bruder Johannes, 07.10.2017
... because in connection with the free Neuro app, this Flanger can do much, much more. I would not have expected for this price.

I do not use the flanger for guitar but with synths and keyboards together in my studio. The looping into a stereo effect path was not a problem, because the pedal also handles line level without any problems.

I was looking for a Flanger with as many settings and sound variations as possible. This is completely true with this effect device. If you use the Neuro-App, there are still some fascinating parameters. So you can z. B. change the modulator on Envelope, which means, the Flanger sweept then as soon as you strike a sound or chord. Super awesome!

Per Neuro App, it is even possible to use the Flanger as a phaser or chorus.

Sonically, the device is high quality, crystal clear but not digital-cold. Although it can not replace a truly analogue pedal, it still provides enough warmth to convince.

The flanger has convinced me so much that I'll probably get the MIDI hub to do it.

Nevertheless, there is something to complain about: The Neuro app uses the headphone jack of the smartphone or tablet to communicate with the effects unit. Klever thought, but unfortunately also the key or ring tones are transferred to the pedal. Could be embarrassing in live operation ... So turn off all system sounds before the concert ;-)

Conclusion:

Positive:
- many settings
- many sound variations
- much more than a flanger
- Power supply included

Negative:
- Breakthrough the system sounds of the smartphone / tab when using the Neuro App.
