Good, not perfect
Artem Shevchenko, 16.08.2020
These headphones are really famous and a lot of people recommend them--that's why I bought them for mixing. I wouldn't say they are perfect, my expectations were higher, but still, I not regret buying them: nevertheless, it's a GOOD choice. I use them with my UAD Apollo Twin sound interface and everything works fine, I have enough of headroom.

Pros:
+ clear and detailed sound
+ interchangeable cable
+ nice look

Cons:
- seemed to me too bright - but it's good for finding sound artifacts
- not so comfortable, a bit tight - after an hour of using them I had a headache (hope some time needed for them to loose up)
- the cable is not coiled (I believe the majority of sound engineers prefer a coiled one, as I do)

Reference headphones for a good reason
Rboggyz, 13.05.2020
These have gone around as being reference headphones since the HD580 was launched. I have to say I cannot disagree with that at all. I am using them with a JDS Labs Element 2, and have compared them to the HD580s which I also own, as well as a couple of pairs of Beyerdynamic, the DT 770 Pro 250 Ohm and the DT 1770 Pro. The nature of those being closed back, a direct comparison is not exactly fair, however! The Sennheisers are more confortable, and sit very well in terms of sound quality. Bass is not as punchy, but it's still full of detail, they have excellent mids, I have noticed male voices sound beautiful on them. Highs are not fatiguing, nor faded, for my ears they are just right. One good comparison with the Beyers would be the soundstage. Although Sennheisers are open back, the soundstage is close and intimate. Overall I am very happy with the HD 650 and I can recommend them for everyone who wants a good pair of mid-range headphones.

Good sound quality - Lacking on soundstage
Jamie Stivala, 10.01.2021
Personally, I use these for constant listening to audio (daily home driver).

These headphones are very easy to listen to. Very comfortable and the audio is not "too much" that you have to have breaks in between long listening sessions. They sound greater when listening with higher levels of audio.

My only issue is that the sound-stage is not as wide as I had hoped. Despite that, the audio still sounds beautiful, especially at higher levels of audio.

Paired with a FiiO K5 Pro DAC/AMP

Wow, I thought I was set for life with my Ultrasone Proline 2500, but the HD650 blows them out of the water. So much more balanced midrange. Now I feel I'm getting close to what it actually sounds like. Sits well on the head too, covering the whole ear.

Minus one "comfort" star for the cable being way too long, and I personally prefer the cable to attach to only the left side. Let's see if there are any alternative cables to try out.
