High quality without the usual high price for open back

I use them with my e-drum with silent cymbals so I hear the cymbals without an additional mic. I already had the HD569's for normal listening, then I wanted an open backed one for practice.

For my use case:
-The headphones are very open with only minimal (about 10db) dampening in the treble range. When listening to music it does seem like a bit more.
-These are very comfortable! But for drumming they do get a bit hot. They do stay on my head very well no matter how metal the music gets ;)
-The lead is replaceable so no worries that you'll need to replace the whole headphone when it breaks.
-Unexpectedly, hearing the rubber e-drum pads is a pro, gives a clearer feeling of connecting without any latency.

Very disappointing lack of quality

More expensive version of hd555's. Worse quality and worse sound. So, why are we paying extra?? Thin, annoying lead that won't move freely. These broke after 6 months of light, careful use. Terrible. Thomann were ok, but, sennheiser were useless. No idea what problem was, what they did to fix it and if it will just happen again. Very disappointing lack of quality and professionalism. Not sure I'd buy sennheiser again.

I have used this headphones for more then a month for creating music and I am pleased with the quality. I used a cheaper Sennheiser and Yamaha headphones, but HD 559 are better.
