Sennheiser E914 Meets Martin D41
I bought the E914 as a mic for my Martin D41 steel-strung acoustic Dreadnought guitar. The E914 seems best with the mixer gain turned up for an occasional flash of the peak indicator (Yamaha MG124CX mixer with just a little mid-range boost). With the mic positioned comfortably away (30 - 40cm) and pointing directly at the sound hole/neck area I get the rich sound the Martins are famous for via the Yamaha MSR250 powered speakers. Not really tested under high-risk feedback conditions but I am very pleased with the results so far (and the usual excellent service from Thomann)

Built like a tank!
Very well built and also very good sounding. Especially recording flute. I wouldn't expect such a pro-quality sound. An ethnic instrument which is called Baglama also gave great results in terms of recording quality with e914. It's not cheap but you can get same results ( very close ) to KM184 which is more expensive than this.Highly recommended!
