Samson Graphite M25, USB Mid Controller Keyboard, 25-key mini keyboard, programmable master encoder and eight parameter knobs, dedicated transport controls, four backlit velocity-sensitive trigger pads (two banks), USB bus powered, dedicated Octave and Sustain buttons, Pitch Bend and Modulation ribbons, Apple iPad compatible with optional Apple Camera Connection Kit (not included).
Customers that were interested in Samson Graphite M25, have then bought these products
Positive: * Nice to look at with a good finish and aesthetic design. * Chock full of features, including the various controls. * Controls illuminate when activated. * In depth MIDI control editor allows you to select exactly what each controller and pad does.
Negative: * Pitch and mod ribbons often jump around irregularly; Not as smooth as it should be. * Pads require a very firm touch to register input. * The casing is slightly bent so that one of the rubber feet under the corners is always off the table top - This means when I play it it makes a loud clacking sound as it connects with the table top. * The keys require a hard touch for regular play as the MIDI velocity data seems to be an odd logarithmic pattern. In other words, a light touch gives a light velocity, but so does a moderate touch - with a heavy touch giving an appropriate velocity. * MIDI control editor software is often temperamental. * Master encoder doesn't seem to do anything meaningful even with control editing.
Conclusion: I cannot recommend this product due to its myriad issues. It does, however have ALL the bells and whistles, which is what I need.
Feedback for use with Ableton Live. The Controller itself was of surprisingly decent quality for the price and the build itself was decent. However, i encountered problems on the software side. The software which was supposed to map the controls would not work properly nor update the firmware of the device. There is a video on youtube describing how the software is supposed to work with Ableton live but that was of very little use since the software was not able to run -as described in the video - at the same time with Ableton (once the M25 was connected and recognized by Ableton the software would give a connection error).
As such, the only chance is to map directly in Ableton, but that is such a killjoy as whenever you want to reassign channels you need to close Ableton and open the software. I was not able to find a working version of the software.
In conclusion, even though the M25 would have been a highly usable device for me in terms of functionality, I had to return the device because of the software issues.
