Good Practice pad
Alex Krvs 26.05.2021
I bought this practice pad after watching a Rick Dior video about the practice pads he is using.
I am not disappointed at all but truth be told it feels nothing like a snare drum... It still has a pad rebound, but the pros are a lot more than the cons.
One of the pros is that it's the only practice pad that will actually give a GREAT sound when on your snare with the wires on.
You definitely get a different sound near the edges so sound wise it does feel like a snare drum and not a pad.

If you want a pad that feels exactly like a snare then the remo 10" tunable practice pad is the way to go.
If you want something versatile to practice your sticking and brushes on, and you don't really care about the bounce, then this quiet tone pad is the way to go.

P
More realistic than straight rubber pad and good on a snare
Paul330 20.11.2013
Nice coated skin, not too much rebound so more realistic than a straight rubber or silicone practice pad. I like the size, & what it lets you down on in the area of portability, it really makes up for when being able to practice brush technique too.

It's strong, sturdy and well made with good materials & the head is replaceable with any drum skin of your choice too. It does sound a little louder than a rubber pad but I bought this for its feel and for hand technique not sound reduction. That said it does well and is less noisy than some seriously pricey alternatives from the States.

I recommend it

Quality made practise pad, Heavy construction.
When playing the bounce of the stick is smaller than in a real drum.
But for a practise pad the bounce is quite real.
Medium silence.

b
unfortunately the best practice pad in the market for brushes
brunomaia 28.06.2023
Like others, I also bought it because of Rick Dior's advice. But I had to replace the drum head for a Remo Emperor (2-ply) that was not being used.
Be ready to also buy another head, because that Sabian stock one is like sandpaper. You can do your nails with that skin, seriously.
I disassemble it (to replace the head). You need a 10mm wrench for it, because the tension rod ends on a 10mm bolt. impossible to even adjust the tension for your best rebound and noise without a wrench.
Too expensive for what it delivers. and maybe not for everyone. If you do not care about Jazz brushes, maybe Remo 10" is the best for you.
Cons

The skin is coated, but too abrasive. It will eat up your favorite pair of sticks beads in no time.

Too noisy for practising at night. Your neighbors will wake up thinking someone is knocking on their door, or that a woodpecker is trying to break in.

Not completely realistic rebound...

Too heavy to carry around.

The tension rod needs a 10mm wrench to adjust tension and noise tuning.

Pros:
14" size with coated skin is perfect for brush practising.

Conclusion:
I will leave the conslusion to you, but I cannot really recommend an item that has more "cons" than "pros" .
All I can say is that I am returning it...
