Collecting 8 ch summing mixer with these modules...If you need some secret weapon during tracking or mixing you will love it!
Sorry for abstract comments but I would call its sound as subtle magic!

Great product as it adds an extra pleasing layer to the sound. I only wish there was a stereo unit (instead of doing same knob twisting twice).

Perfekt am Masterbuss, aber auch auf Einzelspuren

Am meisten holt man aus dem Gerät raus, wenn man es auf den Masterkanal gibt u mehr oder weniger von Anfang an reinmischt. Deshalb empfehle ich auf jeden Fall sich gleich 2 Stk zuzulegen.

Sound:

Tapehead u Silk Blue: Machen sehr viele Obertöne in den Lo Mids u Bässen.

15 Ips: Benutze ich meistens am Masterbuss, denn es gibt der Kick einen schönen 50 Hz Bass u bringt den Mix ins Rollen.

30 Ips: Verwende ich auf Einzelspuren. Passt am Master meistens nicht so. Färbt bei 100 Hz, was da eher ungünstig ist.

Silk Red: Macht Obertöne in den Oberen Mitten u Höhen. Kann man als Eq sehen, denn es hebt den Bereich an. Ist immer am Masterbuss eingestellt.

Softclipper: Zu dem kann ich nocht nicht viel sagen.


Fazit:

Die 542 am Masterbuss verbinden alle Instrumente miteinander (Glue), machen den Mix hörbar lauter, wobei der Pegel am Meter nicht ansteigt u der Mix klingt einfach wie die Refernezen mit denen ich ihn vergleiche.

Eq Entscheidungen fallen mir viel leichter, da es das Problem mit "zu dünner Mix" nicht gibt. Mit dem Gerät macht das Mischen einfach Spaß u man kommt schneller zu den gewünschten Resultaten.

Auf Youtube gibt es ein sehr schönes Video von "MixbusTV", da hört man sehr gut, was das Gerät macht.

Una marcia in più in mix o sul bus

Questa macchina è meravigliosa.

La sezione Tape Emulator ammorbidisce le alte e arrotonda le basse - e la sua azione è variabile con lo switch 15/30ips (che simulano le caratteristiche dei due tipi diversi di nastro) e la resa dinamica cambia in modo radicale dosando il livello di ingresso.

Il controllo "saturation" può arrivare a distorcere in modo evidente, ma usato a livelli bassi dona una "croccantezza" gradevolissima al segnale. Sulle chitarre è eccezionale.

La sezione di cui si parla meno è il circuito "SILK" con controllo "texture". Si tratta di un circuito che lavora sulle armoniche e colora il suono in modo più o meno evidente.

Il silk blue è più sottile, leggermente più frizzante sulle alte e impartisce una colorazione piuttosto delicata ma sempre gradevole.

Il silk red è l'arma definitiva per le chitarre: esalta leggermente le medie ma senza renderle fastidiose, la sensazione è di avere un qualcosa che porta avanti il suono e gli restituisce aggressività e vitalità.

Sia silk red che silk blue sono dosabili tramite controllo texture.

Personalmente lo uso sia in ripresa (dosato a seconda delle fonti) sia sul mix bus (ne possiedo una coppia) spesso con il solo silk red inserito.
