After 4 months on stage again sold

aufsichtsperson, 11.12.2013
For this review, I left me some time. The first impression of the Roland Jupiter is great, but unfortunately takes place in the shop and often with a headphone instead. Likewise in the shop are missing now times the colleagues, guitarist, drummer, bassist. That is why I wanted to first live some shows.

In practice I use Korg, Yamaha and Nord Stage as well as Roland. The Roland predecessors were all in my possession, the new series shines first in practice but then shows how "lustless" and spongy that is all. Sounds in principle still as before 5-6 years (well that is with Korg also so) but has absolutely no Personality more. I spent many weeks building sounds, was in the studio at first and now has to say in the mix during the studio work and above all on the stage,

Last it!
Roland warms up all the old sounds once again and that with worse transducers, mediocre processing and keyboard and a latency the record is suspect. This is no longer fun with the company, because it does not matter, everything that has appeared in the last 10 years so is to build sounds into an expander or other things. The name no longer vouches for what it once was.

Probably not only I noticed this, after 4 months the auction stopped just half of the purchase price and as I see, a lot now sell Jupiter again. Probably not without reason.

Rolang Jupiter 50

Marcel805, 17.05.2013
Well, where should I start, for this profukt it is worth in any case the assessment somewhat more detailed.

The product is really very robust built, (metal case, etz.) And therefore for transportation and for live operations very well suited.

The user interface is extensive and clearly structured, you get used to it very quickly. The service itself is really very well built. I myself took about 2 hours to get me into the user interface in the submenus reinarbeit. So it is almost self-explanatory.
What is especially great are the numerous possibilities to create your own sound as you would like it. You can lay several sound on top of each other and each separate sound separately with various effects. (You can think of stacking several Jupiter 50s together) You can really spend hours working on the sounds and playing with the different features.
If you have your own sound so far, you can store it in different banks.
The D-Beam controller, 2 additional buttons on the user interface, as well as 4 knobs and 2 pedal inputs on the back of the Jupiter 50, can be assigned different functions or effects for each live set, so you can refresh your sounds with effects in live mode.
The keyboard is slightly weighted and has a non-slip surface, which makes playing very pleasant. Even with wet hands, you will not slip off the buttons. Really very well done.

All around, this is a truly professional device. The only thing which bother me a bit is the resolution of the display, which is very rough. However, anyone who owns an I-pad can help. Roland offers a free app for Apple (unfortunately not yet for Android) which makes it possible to control via USB the Jupiter 50 and also 80 with the I Pad.

If the amount of sound is nevertheless not enough, Roland also offers the "Roland Synth legend" free of charge. A collection of live sets and various legendary sounds that can be transferred to the Jupiter 50 via a USB stick or played directly. So the possibilities with this device are almost unlimited.

Really a top device !!!
