A good bag

Benjamin T., 09.10.2009
A brief review of the Rockbag RB 22503B Hardware Bag:

The bag is basically solidly processed. The floor consists of a wooden plate, on which a plastic cover is screwed on the inside. Also from the outside the wooden panel is completely hidden by the material (Cordura?) And therefore not to be seen.
The bag has the dimensions: 110x40x35 cm. Because of this, each piece of hardware (apart from a rack) fits seamlessly into it. The bag can withstand light rain for a long time without any problems.

Division:
The bag has 2 compartments. A big one, where the hardware is stored (this compartment has no further subdivisions), and a smaller one on the left outer wall, which is about 25 cm deep and 105 cm long! One can use this well for the storage of a stickbag or standing bones.

The large compartment is closed by two very large and strong zippers, which hold the bag closed even at maximum filling.

The bag can not be adjusted like the Rockbag Caddy. Because of the wooden plate it can not be folded. Therefore a space requirement of 110x40x13 cm must be taken into account.

Content:
The bag has a very large volume; Hihat and footmass can be fitted with 6-7 boom booths (Pearl 800W) or 10 microphone stands. Due to the high weight of the hardware, however, the pocket can not be carried by most people alone. For transport, therefore, there are two large plastic wheels on one side (on the photo: the left). This allows smaller stair steps to be taken. Opposite is a very thick, well-sewn cloth handle, which does not have to pay due to the heavy weight massive load.
In addition, there is a further carry handle (2 fabric loops, which can be closed by Velcro closure) almost centrally at the top of the bag.

Weak point 1:
However, I consider this positioning to be only conditionally meaningful.
The bag can easily be pulled on the right hand grip due to the rollers. However, if they have to be worn once (which can happen depending on the location), this can be very difficult. It goes without problems, if both transporters pack the bag completely from the outside (which is also not always possible), likewise, if these are carried to third to the better separated fabric loops. However, if you want to carry the bag in pairs like a "travel bag" on the handles provided, this is almost impossible at the centrally positioned handle. Due to its position, the wearer has to bend very far forward, which means that the load on the back is much too high (even damaging).
A handle (between the rollers) on the left outer side would have helped, also the shifting of the loops to the left.

Weakness 2:
On the right is also a pull-out handle, which consists of two metal bars, which are connected with a plastic handle (as you know from travel bags). This construction represents the only big! Weakness of the bag. The purpose of this is to keep the back of the bag more backward, due to the potential possibility. If you want to pull the full bag with this pull, however, this already breaks after repeated use (with me: 4x). The hollow, thin metal arms can not withstand the high load in the extended state.

Conclusion:

The broken (changed by Thomann in the usual way swiftly) handle is dispensable. Due to the conveniently positioned fabric grip on the right side, the bag can be transported comfortably (even on longer stretches) without having to take a stooped posture. Therefore, the extendable arm is totally unnecessary.

The overall processing is good, the zippers super. The bag is big - it takes up a lot of hardware. I have used this ca 50x fully loaded and can so far up to the mentioned weak points no disadvantages. For hobbyists and semi-professional musicians, this is a very good product, which I would recommend and even buy again.

A last note (information unchecked): In the case of the additional delivery (broken handle), the new bag contained a note from Rockbag: Despite Asian (I mean it was Taiwan or China) manufacturing Rockbag attaches very much importance to reasonable payment of the workers there. According to Rockbag's statement, the minimum standards applicable there are adhered to. In addition, no children under the age of 14 should have been involved in the production of the bag.

Yes but limited

Pondababa, 09.10.2016
I hesitated a long time before buying this product because I did not have the assurance that the quality and resistance is at the rendezvous.

However, I could not think long because of an imminent move.

The results and I was able to fit all my hardware in it except for my feet of HH: even disassembled to the maxi, the force of the spring did not allow shortening of the feet without risk of piercing the bag (despite its length already Important). When you know the clutter of these feet, it's just super shit ...

My other problem is that after the loading of the gear, I certainly enjoyed the transport wheels and check that the rigid bottom and the PVC 2 ribs made it possible to ensure the bottom end of the bag but, It was necessary to load the bag in the trunk .... Crac, the seams of a handle have dropped ...

But it's lamentable to make pretty logo and empty pockets and not even ensure on this kind of fundamental points !! On this type of article, I dare to recall that the capacity and the resistance are just the ESSENTIALS !!!
