L-PAD 8CX in the home studio
My experience with the L-PAD 6X and the desire to have a compressor on board, I managed to RCF again. The advantages that I wanted to see for me were besides the well working compressor including (Ratio and Treshold) and fader. The compressor works really well. I was already very convinced in the first tests. Great quality! However, I miss a check with slight oversteering. If you have something too much compression set, it can quickly happen to repeat the recording. This is where exercise and experience are required. In addition, I have, at least in A-guitar recordings, often added a little an effect. The L-PAD 8CX now has much more effects, is not really important to me. However, it is certain, though subjectively, that these effects are seriously useful in comparison to other mixers of this price class and thus a small enrichment, if one does not exaggerate with the effect portion. The essential advantage and thus also decisive was the signal flow over 2TK IN. This can be taken out together with the recording signal (eg Mic.) Via the headphone, whereby it is not added to the sum signal (Main). So I have the recording while my backing track and my recording signal (via Mic.) Together on the phone, my recording signal (Main Out) remains nevertheless separated. There is no microphone noise at RCF obviously; That's how it should be. The LED (output level) is slightly more generous than the L-PAD 6X. I feel it as pleasant, of course, since I with the smaller display during the recording then but occasionally in the area of ??over-control came. Add On Recorder: As plug-in module, I ordered the recorder. If one decides for this MP, I can recommend this very as an add on. All in all, RCF delivers a super quality, which was placed in an excellent price-performance ratio. The range of applications goes beyond that of the home studio.
Because of the missing LED for the over-control of the compressor I have however not for this MP decided. If you do not value it, it is a good piece of equipment for your home studio in good quality.
