It's totally amazing guitar.
Extra-quality for Korean made guitar, no complaints.
Fantastic comfortable neck, stable PRS tremolo, guitar is stay in tune well.
Pickups are little noisy, but sounds great, especially clean sound with coils split, sounds like Opeth. Surprisingly good distorted sound.
Beutiful color, birds on fretboard - it looks amazing.
Also, ebony fretboard you will not have a problems with CITES.

Beautiful guitar with ebony fingerboard

In search of a second electric guitar, I got stuck at the PRS SE Custom 24 in Trampas Green. I already call an SE Tremonti Custom my own, so far PRS as a manufacturer was already set.

The choice finally fell on the Custom 24 SE, because it is THE PRS model par excellence on the one hand, on the other hand, the color is simply beautiful in my eyes. As an alternative, I also tested the SE Mark Holcomb, which could not convince me due to the binding on the fingerboard. The present Custom 24 SE has no such binding, perfect.

Very nice, I think that at Thomann both a model with rosewood, and one with ebony fretboard is on offer. Since the Ebony variant is not only cheaper, but also makes no difficulties because of CITES, I opted for this version.

The guitar itself is excellently processed, there were only a few remnants of the polish to see, but with a damp cloth but quickly wiped away. The color looks really great in reality, and the Flamed Maple veneer has a great 3D effect when you look at the guitar from a special angle. Also great: The signature of Paul Reed Smith on the headstock. Is much closer to the USA models than the big SE logo, which up to and including the model series 2016 on the headstock prangte. I also like the natural color on the back of the guitar. Sure, you can tell by the fact that it was not milled from a piece of wood. But that is not noticeable.

Sound Technically, the Custom 24 SE is more for the rock area thought, the pickup mud at noticeable higher gain settings but also they look a bit weak on the chest. I had calculated that, so that is already metal-suitable replacement on the way. Then the guitar should unfold its full sound capabilities.

However, I still can not understand why the PRS SEs do not come with locking tuners. These are already available for really little money. So I ordered a set of Kluson Lockheads for retrofitting. Equally much more pleasant when changing strings.

In short: a beautiful guitar, which, as usual with PRS SEs, is optimally suited as a starting point for further modifications. It should be noted that these modifications are by no means a "must". "Out of the Box" the guitar also looks great, it sounds good and also the conventional mechanics (non-locking) make in combination with the tremolo a (voice) stable job.
