Humidity balance

I bought a Taylor 814e-N (sadly not from Thomann as they don't sell these fine guitars) and the Planet Waves humidity control product was recommended. So I bought some from Thomann.

Basically, I live in England where the climate is largely very wet, so the apparently most frequent problem - dryness - is not an issue for me specifically. In fact, our house is normally around 70% humidity - which is really high for quality guitars, which tend to expand and distort as the top in particular grows with moisture. Not good. So the humidity control for me is to lower the humidity inside the case to around 45% - which is perfect, and matches the situation in the factory where it was built.

Pros? It really works and is a convenient way to create a microclimate in your hard case that protects and preserves your fine instrument.

Cons? Not fair really to criticise something that works really well, but without a hygrometer you can't tell if it's working or not, so it would be cool if it had a colour strip that showed the relative humidity. Big ask, so really this is a cool product as is.

Easy and just works

I use this for inside my acoustic hardcase where I also have a Harley Benton Humi Doctor.

The product is super easy to use and after a month os usage where the room humidity have varied from 28-40%, the humidity in my guitar case stays a constant 44% (note: the Humi Doctor shows around 3% less than my other hygrometers) and my guitar stays in tune which was not the case before I started using this.

I feel the product is safe to use, super easy to use and with no maintenance needed. I am not sure how long the pack will last but after a month it is still squishy...

Pros:
Easy to use, no maintenance/refill
works

Cons:
The refill packs will cost and longevity is dependent on the climate you are in.
If you have several guitars this could be a costly solution

I have already ordered a refill package to have at hand, so yes I will continue using this.

Note: I have seen on youtube that you might be able to revitalize the packs and reuse them. Personally I will not do it as I fear that the packs sealing over time could be damaged so would not want to risk my instrument.

Get this if you have a solid wood acoustic!

I bought this as its recommended by Taylor to be used with their acoustics. They recommend for your guitar to be stored in a case all the time, and im guilty of leaving mine out for a few weeks on end. Sometimes if there is a weather change, I notice the guitar feeling a bit different, I put it in the case with this humidipak and the next day it feels normal again. Maybe its just me ... but im convinced of this! :)
I do think that if you have spent money on a decent guitar that this is a worthwhile investment. They say that it will only last a couple of months, and it will start to feel hard and that it should be replaced. However I think this depends where you live, and here in Ireland it seems to last months and months.

I bought a Jackson DK7M Metallic Black guitar from Thomann and the Planet Waves humidity control product was recommended my friend. So I bought some packet from Thomann for my Jackson.

Its quality is very good. I used it of my Jackson DK7M Metallic Black guitar, to protect from humidity. Its working good.
Pros-------
@ Working good.
@ Stay in Germany 3.5 to 4.5 months.
@ Protect my product good form weather.
@ Have so many parts product. For example headstock pouch, sound hole pouch and 3 humidity packs. Its can protect my all parts.

Cons-
@ Not fair really to criticise something that works really well, but without a hygrometer you can't tell if it's working or not, so it would be cool if it had a color strip that showed the relative humidity. Big ask, so really this is a cool product as is.

So i like this product and i recommend to buy this product.
