I love this guitar.
boringbob, 20.01.2019
I first came across Peerless a few years ago when I bought a semi acoustic bass by them. There was something about the build. It was understated but cool at the same time. Plugged in it sounded musical to my ears. And it just felt like a master luthier had carved it out of wood for a musician. This 6 string has the same qualities only more so. It has few bells and whistles. Plain two layer binding (single on the back), no fret dots, just a discreet mother of pearl (?) design at the 12th fret. The gold Grover locking tuners with black buttons are the most ostentatious thing about the instrument. I mention the austerity of the cosmetics because it illustrates that all the effort in this guitar went into it's play-ability, feel and sound. At this point I confess I am no jazz player, let alone a maestro, so there are some questions that won't get answered in my review, and I don't even know what they are. I have been playing for many years though. Starting at the thin end, the tuners are like silk. The tuning ratio right for accuracy and the string angle into the (perfectly cut) nut almost straight. The fingerboard is gently curved and comfortably wide. The frets are bound and well dressed. The neck profile is somewhere in the middle, but substantial. The single neck end floating pick up sounds lovely with no EQ added (the jack lead is inserted in the guitar end strap peg, there are no knobs, sliders or battery slots cut out of the body). The body seem light and breathes with a balanced top end sparkle that also enhances the pick up. The body is a comfortable size, and when your picking arm is over the top, effortlessly stops the heavier neck from drooping. There is no feeling of weight caused by nitrocellulose finish, or excess glue because there aren't any. This guitar is made of wood:- the bridge, tailpiece and pick guard are all wood. My only gripe - the very plush and tight fitting case appears to have to be laid flat for the lid to stay open without swinging shut while you are removing the instrument. I would humbly recommend this for maestros, anyone who can afford one and likes nice things and every jazz guitarist with lots of friends who are coming up to their 70 birthday.

Superb finger style Jazz guitar
GerL, 29.11.2017
This guitar is perfect for finger style jazz playing and also sounds great with a pick when soloing etc. It was designed for this purpose by Martin Taylor and it does the job 100%
It has a lovely smooth, clean and clear sound from the floating pickup and acoustically it is great to practice with!
It even arrived in tune in the case. I can honestly say it's a guitar for life and I would highly recommend it.
