Small size with big flap ...
Horst aus G., 17.11.2014
Actually, I have enough guitars. When I saw the little beauty the first time in the store I saw well gone. And back again, ever had to look at least for the brand ... Paramount ... never belongs to guitars ... but sounds good ... also the price ...

On the next visit she noticed me again. Gucken does not cost anything ... try also not ...
She felt somewhat heavier than I expected because of the handy little body, but not too hard, quite pleasant. Also the strong round neck profile was pleasant in the hand, and with the traditional short 12 neck and the wide fingerpicker fingerboard I immediately felt comfortable. And the sound ... what can I say ... not only the brand name sounded good ...

The little one had a clear and powerful voice, with the typical resonator sound, and louder than expected already with normal fingerstyle play. The strings were pleasantly flat (for slide almost a little too flat). It sounded clean, no background noises, no deadspots, and when I took out my everlasting glide again the sun rose again, the little one was right in their element ... it sounded really good, both with feeling played and something "more".
A rest of mind brought me to put it back again ... almost an hour I played, did not even notice it ...

On the next visit, I got it to me then ...

Since then she has been playing regularly, alternating with my other Resos, and makes a really good figure.
But no one is without mistakes ... a few small things I have found, however, fall only when one is looking for: a few minor uncleanings in the paint, a slight pressure point on the ceiling, and somewhat unclean execution (many very small dark spots) Of the fingerboard binding during transition to the fingerboard. But love does not break off ... the handy little one with the big voice is currently being played almost the most by all, a really nice addition ...

Makes spa, but is too expensive.
Wernie, 02.09.2016
Paramount is actually an old American banjo brand, which has long been no longer exist. The guitar can be found in the same design but different types of wood under different brandings and also as a no-name. It is very small light and handy eg as sofa or travel guitar. The sound is surprisingly good and balanced for this size, albeit much quieter than my national. The sound result is excellent, however, when you take pictures with it. Also the playability is quite okay, if the fact that the neck profile for my hands is too flat and wide, which favors a cramping of the gripping hand. The resonator is of normal size, but the narrow body makes it a little deep in the lap when playing. The strings are suitable for picking and sliding. Unfortunately, the collar of my specimen was loose and as good as not adjustable. Also, the instrument can not keep up with other guitars of this price class from the Far East, everywhere small impurities can be found, which for a guitar for nearly 600 euros do not have to be. Overall, an instrument that is fun but a bit too expensive for what is offered. In the Flamed Maple version, it sounds less bassy and brighter.
