Modern electronic tuners are generally accurate, reliable and fairly inexpensive.
Welcome to our Electronic Tuners Online Advisor.
Until recently, musicians had to learn a number of old-fashioned tuning methods, all of which relied on the players own sense of pitch and a device such as a pitch pipe or tuning fork. Learning these methods often helped in the development of a good ear, but that was the only real advantage modern electronic tuners offer a degree of accuracy and practicality unheard of a few decades ago. Nowadays, there is an electronic tuner available for just about any instrument and playing situation, and therefore very little excuse for poor tuning!
