I purchased this as a replacement head for my pearl rhythm traveler drum set. Although the drum set already comes with silent practice mesh heads, the key difference is that they are single ply. Whereas this millennium mesh head (apparently thomann's inhouse brand) is double ply.
Double ply is firmer and stiffer and feels just a little bit more like playing on a real snare drum. The important aspect is that the single ply pearl mesh head wasn't good for use with the drum triggers (im using 2box triggit triggers). The single ply was too bouncy causing a lot of machine gunning (i.e. Excessive triggering even when the sticks weren't hitting the head).
