This stand doesn't take up much room and doesn't have too much lean. It's remarkably stable and will take a knock without throwing your guitar across the room. It's a simple stand that you can simply click into place and use straight away. the part that your guitar back leans on is not padded but nor will it scratch your axe. The bottom part is padded and will take most electric guitars. I bought three and both my guitars and ,y bass sit in them fine. I suspect that you'd struggle to get most acoustics to sit in the cradle with much stability but it might take thin-lines and electro-acoustics will probably be fine if they aren't too deep. For electric guitars they are perfect and at this price I bought three. I previously had a high street store version of this kind of stand. It was rubbish and cost more, so this was a perfect replacement.
This will definitely survive the test of your curious cat!
If you're tired of carefully tucking your guitar away in the case every time you take a break for a minute; if the thought of resting your precious instrument against your amp even for a short moment terrifies you (as it should); if your home animals are particularly nosy about your new, expensive guitar, then getting one of these is going to be a cheap insurance.
This thing will probably hold your guitar up to a level 7 earthquake in the Richter scale.
It's really, robust, durable and stable. It does not wobble at all and the base legs have thick rubber caps, which makes the grip really good on solid surfaces like lacquered wood.
My Fender Stratocaster sits very well in this stand, I simply can't imagine it ever falling out.
I do not recommend keeping this on a carpet.
And I think it could bruise the finish off the guitar a bit during long term use. Not that much of a problem for guitars with polyurethane finish, which tends to "brush off" a bit, but nitrocellulose finish tends to come off in large flakes. Take that in account!
It's still a 5 star product!
Pros: + Reasonable pricing + Very robust and durable + Very stable
Cons: - Did not like the manufacturer markings - Could ruin the finish of a guitar, particularly on nitrocellulose lacquer
