I've treid a lot of differnt rods...
Myles 13.08.2015
I've tried a lot of different rods over the years, and I guess my main complain for most would be their poor durability. This is a problem I've encountered with premium brands! However I have to say the relatively low cost Millenium product has proven to be superb. They have a full and solid shaft where you hold the stick, which is greatr as it gives the feel of a conventional drum stick, but then the rods must be of a very high quality or durable wood, as they last four times as long as other products I've tried. I also really like the rod adjusted (the black band around the rods) which again is much more substantial and reliable than the typical rubber band you see on other products. Never once have I need to make running repairs with gaffa tape on these rods...

Millenium FY-1 Floppy Sticks

In general, everything is fine. Execution quality OK.
But the balance is bad. The handle is heavy.
Not very comfortable to play.
I use it a little (it doesn't have much space in my music) - so it suits me. It is very inexpensive and the material is of high quality - so it will serve me for a very long time.
The sound is good on both drums and cymbals.

Excellent rods, well built
KarlGartland 28.08.2020
Extremely durable rods and a good balance between regulars sticks and the usual rods without the solid handle. The only thing I would prefer would be a smaller diameter on the handle, I usually use a 5a stick but these are a fair bit bigger. You get use to it, but I think the feel and balance would be helped by slimming the handle down to around a 5a/b size. Other than that well worth the purchase.

Well built rods

Thomann/milennium once again show how they can make a good quality product that isnt the most expensive.

Handles are good, adjustable rubber bands are very thick and reliable, dont slip at all.

They have a good bounce to them so despite being heavier than regular drum sticks you can still play with them pretty easily. So far not much sign of wear either.

A little thick in the hands
David B. 812 11.06.2013
I got these mainly so I can practice without making quite as much noise, and they work well. Maybe the shafts are a bit too thick but I have never had another pair so I don't have much top compare them to. They give an interesting different sound on the cymbals.

Hot Rods
BenP 15.04.2014
I personally prefer these to the Vic Firth hot rods, even though there is a high price difference. I have used them both in small jazz ensembles and in a production of Miss Saigon. I had great fun using these on a wood block in 'The American Dream', because they have a great bounce.

They are easily adjustable so there is great versatility in the sound you make. For build quality and general usefulness they are definitely a good buy, I don't know why they are so cheap!

Good for variation.
John168 11.11.2013
These give quite interesting sounds compared to sticks or brushes. They are very good for expanding your sound bank but i find them quiet chunky compared to other sticks. Great for slower playing.

Why are these in a percussion kit?
PKSlough 09.09.2023
I'm happy with all the other items in my Thomann percussion kit but was slightly puzzled about these. Now I've read up, it seems they're a kind of drum stick. Not a percussion instrument. Seems strange to put these in the kit.
