Speaker stand?
Peter R. 438, 28.10.2015
Soon as I got it out of the box, I saw the mic stand I have always been looking for.

Same weight as a mic stand, with much more strength & stability than a mic stand. When carrying this, the legs do not swing around causing untold damage like a mic stand.

This stand takes all my mic stand equipe including my beer glass holder & mic stand monitor.

Feet width is adjustable for any space there is left onstage. Whereas a mic stand has only one width for the feet. The standard mic stand centrepole usually falls through the base making for an unstable "chasearound" microphone, but not on this (speaker) stand.

I simply fitted a thread adapter to the small "hat" that came free with this stand, then glued the "hat" permanently on the stand with some thick epoxy glue.

Best mic stand ever & good looking too. Cost less than my last mic stand.

Good value stand for a small speaker
14.11.2014
I'm using this for a Behringer B205D active monitor that we use as a small PA. The 205D is designer for a mic stand but it felt a bit insecure. This is much more stable and goes a lot higher.

The B205D mounting spigot holds it on a 5/8" mic adaptor leaning back at an angle but I found a microphone table clamp on Amazon which was a short piece of steel channel with a 6mm threaded hole on one flange (for the clamp screw, ideal for the threaded stud on top of the speaker stand cap thingy) and a 3/8" mic adaptor screw on the top. I put it in a vice and bashed the top flange into the right angle to hold the speaker upright, added a 5/8" adaptor and the mounting spigot and it all works well.

So while this is not as light or compact as a mic stand, for most gigs its just right, goes above head height if you need to, and stable enough. If your speaker will fit the 25mm tube, or the 6mm threaded top cap it's fine.

Does what it's supposed to, breaks easily
Koob, 11.04.2017
I wouldn't put speakers up to 30Kg on it :) Fine for small inexpensive speakers, if you don't move a lot. But the bolts break very, very easily.
