Miditech Midistart Music 49

Tarmo, 24.02.2015
It is my first midi keyboard and as I am not much of an keyboard/piano player either, so didn't have very specific expectations. Feels pretty well for me, playing the midi drum parts with this and some background synths. Can recommend it warmly. And the size (number of keys) is also convenient for my purposes.

A pearl in the swamp

Black-Thick-And-Long, 02.07.2013
The topic of cheap MIDI keyboards "study" for an eternity. For more than 10 years, I have been looking at the market in this field very closely at the Musikmesse. The good news: the selection is very large. The second good: the prices are low, partly very low. But the crucial bad news is - almost everything is SCRAP! Point.

Even if M-Audio or other known names stick to it. Perhaps I am too spoiled (could long be in the keys of a Korg Wavestation, and that was a pleasure!), But I simply can not accept that I get a keyboard, which feels like butter, no recognizable resistance, the Keys wiggle in all directions and the black go harder than the white (or mal andersrum). Often everything together and in addition a bad production quality.

Miditech's ProKeys series (please do not confuse with the i2 series - which is the classic plastic butter scrap) proves that it can go completely differently, and also at low prices. Since all ProKeys keyboards have an identical keyboard (manufacturer's statement), all models (midistart music 49, midistart pro 49, midistart-3, midicontrol-pro-49).

There wiggles nothing, the keyboard offers a wonderful pressure with some resistance - just as it is! The keyboards are certainly not everyone's thing. The features of the midistart music 49 described here are reduced to the minimum - except for pitch / mod and two octave buttons, there is "only" the black and white buttons. But as I said in really VERY GOOD!

I could imagine that the iPod generation, the children, who have never used real physical buttons / buttons in their lives and just smeared their fingers on the glass and never played on good synthesizers, the plastic butter class Would prefer. How else can you explain the partial euphoric ratings really bad keyboards?

Fortunately, midistart music 49 works directly on the iPad (3rd generation) - the Camera Connection Kit you have to buy separately and the impertinent 29 euros for it. Contrary to the pictures at Thomann, on which a power supply connection is to be seen, this keyboard has no! This should be firstly before the purchase know and secondly Thomann should update the pictures.

5 stars for features result from the fact that you know what you are buying and you can not afterwards not puzzled, that there are no Potis, no pads and no transport buttons. The main feature here is the quality of the keyboard and given the concurence you would have actually given 7 stars.

For anyone who appreciates the feel of a real and good instrument and can dispense with a wealth of additional controllers, I can really recommend the whole Miditech ProKeys series!

And another note: if something is not clear - simply support Miditech anmailen! They answer not only very quickly and competently, but above all on all questions asked. (And not as not often experienced, asked three questions and only get the answer to the first.)

Thumbs up for Miditech!
