I bought these chimes to use with my cajon-based percussion set, and I was not disappointed. I didn't want to spend a fortune and decided to get these based on the overall positive reviews and the very fair pricing.
First of all: they look GREAT, and sound as good as they look. For this price I'd be surprised if you can get a hold of any better chimes, and the build quality ensures that they will last for a long time as well.
The only negative thing I have to say is that they could have used an extra hole (maybe with a different size?) as the chime holder I had didn't fit - the hole was too small. I'm not sure if this is a standard size and the one I had was bigger than usual, but I needed to buy a new mount anyway so I wont let this affect the score!
I am very impressed with the new set of chimes which just arrived. I used it on the same day. Foe the type of music that I play, which is mainly cha cha cha and salsa, the tones come in very handy. The only thing that I feel could of been a little better prepared is the setup. One entry (hole) in the middle is ok but maybe an extra one on the side, at the far end would of come in even better, since not everybody sets up there chimes on a separate chime bar but rather directly from the congas, bongos or a holder that fits onto the bongo stand. Besides, that, I'm thrilled with the article bought, it's colors and the sounds that it throws out. Also, it looks estetically very good on stage.
