It is a priori the same amplification as the Little Mark III (which I tested and compared with the LM Tube during my purchase.)

I find it complete and clear.
I do not put 10 because it lacks a compressor but personally, I do not feel the need and the lamp compresses the sound slightly with good color. Contrary to a previous opinion, I find that there is less dynamic in tube than in transistor. Passing on the transistor preamp the slightest slap blow is explosive ... where the tube would tend to smooth and go in saturation. Level design is no fault. It's made in Italy, and coming from a small MAG600 from Ashdown, I confess that I did not want to hear any more about Chinese.

By opening the beast we realize that it is a real jewel, a concentrate of precision electronics, with very neat work and quality components. In short for 700 euros made in Europe I do not have the impression of "pay the mark"! Moreover, Markbass has a reputation for being very reliable or, rarely, in case of defects their after-sales service is deemed very competent and reactive.

The important characteristic that sends a lot of ink is the size and weight of the beast ... But how can we get 500w out of such a small gadget! Of only 2.9 kg while the pro use heads 300w any lamps of ... 40 kg ??!
I admit that I had big prejudices ... on several forums I denounced the fact that we can not have power with such miniaturization, such a small power supply etc ... For those who know it A little electronics, I thought the small power supply to cut out were banned in audio, to the benefit of big and heavy toroidal transformers ...
In fact Markbass uses in each of its heads a very well studied and filtered cutting power supply. The result is bluffing: no breath, an incredible power and available. Which can sometimes be much more efficient than an oversized and filtered toroidal transformer.

This allied with a super-optimized layout of components thus gives the formidable dimensions of Little Mark.

I managed to negotiate the free Markbass bag (which is still worth 60 to 70 euros ... it stings!)
I strongly advise all the owners of Markbass !!!
Extremely practical, one can leave the head in, the ventilation grilles are provided.

After many happy years with EBS, I wanted to have a change of sound again. Since the requirements for the amplification have changed greatly with me (InEar with big gigs, small cutlery with the small gigs), I decided for the Markbass Little Mark Tube.

In the EQ neutral position the LM Tube brings the bass almost neutral, only with light bass and treble concretion. My FMC box makes the bass excellently balanced and can be adapted perfectly to the respective room. The EQ use frequencies are perfectly selected for my instruments and are rightly attacking. Since the Grundound is however already very good, usually only very small corrections are necessary. That's the way I wanted it!

To the tube preamp:
There is the opinion that the difference between the solid state preamp and the tube preamp should be hardly audible. This is simply wrong! The Little Mark SS preamp is built up rather nicely, so the upper mids have apparently been easily taken back. The tube preamp puts a little bit more "Edge" into the sound. In addition, the sound is compressed more and more with increasing amplification, which is also accompanied by a slight treble and sub bass drop. The tone becomes much more powerful in the band structure. Furthermore, one can exceed the tube precursor somewhat, which leads in particular with Doublestops to beautiful creamy, overtone strong sounds. However, brutal distortion sounds are not possible.

The fact is, I always live with the tube in the game. The setting pendulates with my jazz bass between 13:00 and full. The middle G & L likes it so much at 11:00. Nice if you have the choice ;-)

Why a point deduction? The EBS HD350 sounds even more rougher and more elegant thanks to its excellent drive and BrightRegger. However, it lacks the power at 8 ohms. With an EBS Multicomp Compressor in front of the Markbass, however, both amplifiers are completely balanced.

The second controllable jack / XLR input was for me the main reason to decide against the LMIII, the additional mute function and the absolutely nobler optics have then convincingly convinced.

The amp growls, smacks, and does not spit! Input = Output + EQ. Sound and playful weaknesses are mercilessly burnished. However, if you have a good instrument and playful qualities, you will enjoy this amp.

The amp rushes when using the VPF filter and raising the treble more than I would like. Is however not to be heard in the live operation.

Whether the use of a push-pull potentiometer of reliability serves, the future will still point.

A great little, versatile muscle bitch, who has a lot of sympathy points because of his honest style.
