Amazing piece of gear
Andrei M., 13.01.2019
I love this midi keyboard.

Pros:
Highly programable, feels really nice! They keys are beautiful. Not quite like full weighted keys but they feel very close to the real deal. Not like the plastic ones you usually find on keyboards like this. All the knobs and faders feel great nothing much to complain about. The plugins that came with it are really good. I've already used them quite a lot in getting the pads synths and everything else I needed from them. Register your code and you have free access to them!

Cons:
Oh boy do you have to learn how to use it. For everyone wanting to get this keep in mind that you need to understand a bit how these work with various programs like Ableton, Mainstage etc. Be ready to sweat a bit until you get your head around the various settings this thing has, assuming this is your first time buying something like this.

That being said once you learn how to use it, it does it's job fantastically! Probably the best option in this price range. Keys feel great and I feel like I have a keyboard worth more than what I payed for.

To note I have no had the issues some people on the internet were saying about it freezing or whatever. It worked flawlessly. Although at first I set it up wrong and got really frustrated until I finally figured out how it was suppose to work!

Definitely would recommend to anyone, both studio and live musicians.

I use this keyboard in studio so some of the features are not needed for me but still I'm satisfied with them.
Probably the best thing on them are the keys which are velocity sensitive with an aftertouch. Those are useful for someone who is up to learning how to play a piano the closest way possible to the real one + it contains input for sustain and volume pedals.
Bunch of faders and knobs can be assigned on whatever user could wish for. Assigning them might be a bit long process but it is very useful for workflow.
The X/Y pad is nice and fun addition to this midi keyboard which you can't see on others in this price range.
All in all, CODE 61 is, in my opinion, great keyboard for that price. It's a bit complicated for new musicians who haven't yet worked on many keyboards but options to have fun on them are countless.
And one hint for those who are complaining about how you can't turn it off unless you unplug them - press and hold the on/off button for 5 seconds and watch the magic happens.

Not for live performance
RumenT, 06.03.2020
If you are going to use it in studio it will be perfect, all sorts of control over software even mouse so you might not use the keyboard of your computer so much. The keys feel great, all sliders and nobs work perfectly.
So far so good, but... I bought this product to use with a workstation (Roland FA 06) looked cool, had layers and splits over four channels... And the sustain and expression pedal work only on one zone which makes the whole concept of zoning useless. Also when switching zones the keyboard sends program change messages which is also not good. And the last bad part is there are actions for programming above some of the keys but you don't get any texts and numbers like the white model has.
My biggest problem is with the sustain but looking through m-audio forums they don't seem willing to fix this. I will still use this controller in my home studio but was mislead by the description for live performance.

Not as i hoped
Patrinos, 17.10.2017
Got this keyboard because of the number of features it provides and its low price.

Although the feel of the keys is nice enough, there are spacings between keys bigger than others and there are some minor height differences.
The real deal breaker so far is that i had a couple of freezes with this keyboard(altough after extensive use, around 20 hours of playing so far) and had to restart the unit and my DAW were with my other 2 older midi keyboards had no issues with that,so i am guessing its solely the unit that is responsible.
My last problem is with the encoders, were if i turn them fast enough you get from 0 to 100 in less than half a spin but could be how they are supposed to work since they are dynamic, still something that i dont like personally, plus when in mackie for mapping the encoder has values 0 and 65 so you cant really see how much you have progressed when u turn the knob.

On the positive side the keys feel nice, the pads work really well and its easily programmable and u can map everything so you dont have to touch your mouse once you have it programmed.
The faders also respond well.

Overall if you just want to have this unit at home, producing music it can serve you well, but it doesnt seem it can be reliable for live playing.

To conclude i am kinda disappointed so far with this product and i will probably return it and get something better, despite its many features.
