So much bass!
Anthony828 05.09.2019
I had been playing my Millenium MPS-750 drum kit through a bass guitar amplifier which wasn't producing the quality of sounds that I could get through headphones so I decided I needed to buy a dedicated drum amplifier.
After extensive research I chose the Laney DH80 as it had the features that I wanted and the sound was reported to be good. As usual Thomann's order and delivery processes were quick and efficient and less than a week after ordering it I was plugging my drum kit into it.
The amp is a nice size, just right for the room that I have my kit in. With the front of it being angled all of the controls (and speakers) are facing me so it's easy to make changes if I need to do so. This was quite handy as I quickly found out that the bass output of the amplifier is quite astonishing! I'm currently using the amp with the bass turned right down (-5) and the treble at just under half way (-2) and find this to be pretty much perfect.
The only minor niggle that I have with it is the Bluetooth as it will only pair with one item at a time. I paired it with my iPod initially but that doesn't hold as much music as my iPhone, however in order to pair that I have to get the iPod to "forget" its connection to the amp.
Other than that I think it's a fantastic purchase for anyone with an electronic drum kit and limited space, for this price you can't go wrong.
Update - after playing my new Roland VAD503 kit through this and then listening directly via in ear monitors I’ve noticed that the amplifier doesn’t produce much output in treble range, such as the hi-hats. Other than that I have no complaints.

Good monitor
Rahul 24.11.2019
I have Roland TD-1DMK vdrum and was looking for the drum monitor for sometime. Roland monitors is the obvious choice, but then Laney released its drum monitor this year. There are not many reviews or demos on net, but then I made choice of trying the Laney monitor. The specs are same as one of its competitive product in the same range. The sound quality of the monitor is very good. The Bass and treble equalizers works fine. Lot of input options plus bluetooth. I have not yet turned the volume to max as till half way is already good. Am very satisfied with the product. Well done Laney!

One not nice thing I found is if I attach the headphone, hear the static sound. It does not happen with all headphones, only I believe very high end. Am using Roland headset. But it does not matter me much as anyway am not planning to use the headphone from monitor.

Tip (for extra boost) - Am using Berhinger HA400 audio splitter as an interface between the drum and monitor. From the splitter I have used two outputs and used both inputs of monitor.

Best value for money
Andrzey 26.02.2021
This drum monitor is great. I was considering also Roland PM-100, but Roland doesn't have Bluetooth (useful for other purposes) and DI OUT. What's more - Laney is much cheaper. The sound is very good (bass is 5/5/; treble 4/5), as expected. No big issues here if you plan to use Laney for home purpose. And these red leds look awesome :-) Credits for outstanding client service.
