One of my fave synths
Tomhazy 29.12.2021
This synth is amazing! And with the option to load my own multisamples, it's become my gig synth of choice: Portable, with a pretty nice keybed, and with the same sounds I programmed in the studio!
And I have to admit I love the randomise function more than expected!

Not bad but could have/should have been better built
Robert7183 20.07.2020
This is good value for money for this revamp of a novel technology but I for one would have happy to pay twice the price for this instrument for a better quality build, wider keyboard with aftertouch, a better display etc. This technology deserves better but I guess Korg reason that selling loads of units at a reasonable price is better than selling a lot less at a higher price. This will sell by the boatload and rightly so because it does a lot for the money and is a welcome change from the cheap as chips analog synths that have flooded the market in recent years. It is way easier to program than the original wavestation but its still quite complex and will require patience.
The presets are quite good and it is quite easy to do a few edits and end up with something new. It really needs a decent manual/user guide and sadly you wont be getting one in the box. The one online isnt up to much either. If you want to progam it and you have a short attention span or are impatient then this probably isnt the machine for you.

Other than that its great and thanks to Korg for bringing this one back to life. My original went to heaven after about 10 years. I had a wavestation SR desktop which had a 2 line display and overheating issues ( internal power and no fan!). I dont see that happening to this one. The only way this could die is that is so light that you could easily knock it off an instrument stand.

Korg Wavestate is a deep, powerful synthesizer on its own league. Wavesequencing is a powerful concept, especially having timing, pitch, sample, shape and so forth as a separate lane from each other (call it a separate sequence lines if you like) allows you to create evolving sequences rapidly. Combined with numerous modulation capabilities, 4 different layers with their respective fx slots, envelopes, lfos, sequencers and so on, making it a device that has endless sonic capabilities. The hardware itself is lightweight but very well built. Even though most of the functions can be reached through out the hardware interface, certain changes or selections can only be made by menu diving. The sound quality is very impressive. Most of the samples are meticulously selected. However not being able to import your own samples in it doesn't make much sense in this age. I hope Korg will bring that function in the future updates.

Korg Wavetable
JMDC 05.04.2020
The Korg Wavetable is a polyphonic keyboard synthesizer generating wavetable sound. The keyboard directly conveys an excellent reproduction sensation. Robust construction, together with high quality controls, creates an excellent impression. Thanks to the OLED display, you have all the important actions in view at all times.
At the heart of the synthesizer are high-resolution wavetable oscillators. To process wave tables, wavetable processors are available at the oscillator level, which can handle wave bending, wave rectifiers and bit crushing, among other things, and thus they represent a surprising extension of the existing spectrum. Sound is carefully generated
There is no boredom with Korg Wavetable, thanks to the flexibly attributable sources of modulation. In addition to the dedicated ADSR envelopes, there are LFOs that can be operated synchronously or up to the audio range. Any modulations that are not firmly connected can be assigned freely in the modulation matrix.
The powerful and independent effects processors add the finishing touches to any sound. Whether delays make you forget time and space, versatile reverberations, jet flangers or phasers and pleasantly undulating chorus effects can be assigned to each patch. A distortion at the end of the signal chain helps to obtain the necessary hue, if desired.
It is an excellent synthesizer and is worth every digit of its price. it is truly a must.
