Chamber in a box - great sound, interesting concept

Markus6575, 07.07.2016
The Keeley Abbey Chamber Verb pedal has been designed to replicate the legendary echo sound of Abbey Road Studios, including the filters used at that time. I do not really know the real chambers, but I really like what comes out of the pedal.
It is not uniteressant, as Hall / Echo was then made: A loudspeaker sounded the chamber and a microphone picked up the signal again. In the back of the head one should have / that the real chamber had a natural delay of 30 milliseconds, in addition the delays by the tape machines. So I have not billed, therefore max. 180 millisecond delay possible.

First, the pedal comes stably: aluminum die-cast housing, neatly processed, nix wobbly, the potentiators are easy to turn, but not too light. Optics is, of course, a matter of taste.
To the right the socket for a 6,3mm monoc, left it goes out again.

"Decay", "Predelay" and a "Blend" control are available as options and then a small three-way switch, which is responsible for the filter settings together with the "Brilliance" control.
The filter allows an increase or decrease of 10dB at 2.7kHz, 3.5kHz and 10kHz.

Most importantly, the question is, how does it sound. It does not sound like feather, not even after plate but different and that's why I wanted the pedal.
How can such a sound be described?
It sounds "belligerent" than a spring sound, can also rumble something, rather darker, but not muddy. I have a different association, but for many, the adjective "warm" would be fitting :-)
In this respect, Keeley has achieved his goal for me, whether the pedal really does the chamber in London or not, the Abbey Chamber verb is a prima "vintage" -hall pedal in good quality, which does not always fit with me, but there Where it suits his job well.

keeley abbey chamber

I took it after seeing and listening to an online video. I use it with the guitar and I liked it right away. Now that I have it, I can say it's the best reverb pedal I've ever bought. using extreme settings I feel that it is not a natural effect but a digital one and hence it does not run away. and not even the so great strymon!
the four pot + switches interact with wonder. Specifically, wet / dry is the cross and delight of this product. when I make a mistake, I'm sure I threw money away and got caught. but with a minimum of attention I managed to get excellent environments. the brilliance can increase or cut 10db the frequencies set with the switch. decay and predelay work fine.
I would have a note but only pet aesthetics. the pedal has no weight, the colors are dull and the small white potentiometers are just scratched. At first glance it looks like a supersecost, then ignites it and changes its mind.
we hope hard.
regards
