These have never worked
darev, 25.01.2018
We invested in 3 extenders. They don't work for more than 10-15 minutes at a time. Our other controllers work fine with no issues. We have used the iCON's (with our ProX) on multiple computers in different environments and they do not stay "connected" to any computer they are connected to. This was a terrible waste of money. USB power management has been turned off in both the device manager and the control panel. The problem isn't the computer "seeing" the USB device. It's the units actually communicating with the DAW. We are updated to the latest firmware. This issue happens on multiple computers. We very much want these things to work, but we have grown confident over time that they will never work. The Pro X investment was a huge loss for us.

A bit expensive but a good supplement to the QCon Pro X.
Brandito, 05.03.2018
After about nine months with the basic device, I decided to expand it to 24 channels with two QCon Pro XS, which makes my workflow noticeably more pleasant and intuitive. Somewhat dissuasive compared to the basic device was quite high price for the extensions but that is probably how it is and the devices seem to be cheaper nowhere to be.
The haptic and operation is identical to the basic device, including the somewhat hakeligen buttons and the very sensitive, so cranky, rotary encoders. The secondary display is also largely useless here and unfortunately, various firmware updates have not resolved some of the problems with the DAW compatibility.
Also negative to note (under reserve, since I do not know whether this is actually guilty icons or limits of the MCU protocol) is the setup, Unfortunately, the XS extensions with the base unit not on the device side to summarize a unit, but must be configured as separate Control Surfaces in the DAW. Whether this works depends on the DAW - in Cubase, Reaper and Logic I managed to configure all 3 devices in the correct order, not in Reason. There may be possibilities via MIDI remapping that I have not yet profoundly entered, but at least several hours of experimentation have been unsuccessful. Here, the manufacturer must at least improve the corresponding MIDI profile. At the moment I can not comment on other DAWs.

Conclusion: The QCon Pro XS does what it should and quite neat. The engine fad feel on the whole good, the meter bridge is great and the other controls are not outstanding, but absolutely useful. Price is in my opinion about 100, - too high, but the additional faders are at least worth it to me, albeit grudgingly. Buy recommendation with reservations.
