Great guitar for playing rock music, but not only. Has a nice, thick sound, when driven. Guitar itself is really light and comfortable to use. Stays in tune quite well. The set-up was really well done and the guitar was even almost in tune! Came with D'Addario 10-46 strings, which suited really well. I really like the finish and simpliness of the instrument. One tone knob, one volume knob and a 5-way switch make the action really simple. The neck is also relatively thin, which makes it a good instrument for those, who are used to stratocasters. On the negative side, the guitar does not cover too big variety of sounds and does not act too well using only a light distortion. On the other hand, it makes really good sound when fully driven and is a great guitar for playing 80's rock/metal music.
I must admit that I haven't played THAT much guitars in my lifetime, but I did play a solid variety of them - from cheap mass produced guitars to very expensive customs. This one definitely delivers and is surely one of the best I've played so far. The neck is super fast, Ibanez just kicks it with necks. The action is pretty low and very nicely done. Pickups are really versatile and can deliver very nice tones and they may go blues or pretty heavy metal, although my preference goes for Seymour Duncan and I'll swap them when I get a chance, but surely won't throw those away. The guitar is light and lays well on the body, very comfortable to play. A+ from me! :)
The guitar plays really well and it is very light. Also, the customer service was amazing. I live in the United States and I got the guitar in less than a week. They kept me updated every step of the way and I would definitely but more from them.
What convinced me to buy this guitar (other than its looks) is the sound I heard from it in a youtube video. I tune it in drop C and it?s distorted sound is stunning. Clean sounds are okay but nothing amazing. I love the way it looks... the mate black finish is superb and I love the dark metallic hardware (especially around the pickups). The tuners are very good for stock tuners... and yet I can?t help but feel disappointed about this guitar. It « feels » cheap. Running your fingers along the sides of the neck you can feel the sharp ends of the frets (nothing terrible, but my cheap Harley Benton guitars feel much better finished than this!)... fret buzz is a real problem and messing with the truss rod and string action has so far been an exercise in futility. The action is too high for my liking, but I cannot lower it without rendering the guitar unplayable... For the first time I might have to pay someone to set up a guitar for me. Hopefully it can be done! One very good thing about it is its weight. It?s a very light guitar... A real joy to play standing up. I was also impressed by how strong the vibrations feel through its body... You can really « feel » what you?re playing. I wanted a pretty Ibanez for cheap, and that?s what I got, but I still feel like I paid too much for it...
