Hammer - Tele

Frank367, 12.10.2010
So you talk about Monday cars when the new car rattles. So I must have caught a Sunday Tele TE-20.
I'll make it short:

Great guitar, the super processing comes here! I used to play Fender Strat and Gibson Les Paul, years ago, and I had sold my strings. Now I was looking for a cheap way to load guitar sound via tube preamp and USB interface in Samplitude and its fantastic Vandel Virtual-Amp.

I tried this superfine guitar and did not expect anything, absolutely nothing, and ultimately got from Thomann an incredible musical instrument based on the price. The guitar has good tuners, a good neck and a very good griffboard. Body and paint are impeccable, the pickups sound amazingly good and do not buzz and rumble. Electronics and potentiators are good and work smoothly clean, fine-tuning and noiseless!

The bridge is also neat, the strings do not pass through the body as in the original, but from the back through the bridge. The mood is nevertheless stable.

What is the catch? I ask myself also and can not find one :). If at all criticism is appropriate, then one the Griffbrett firstly ordenlich with dishwashing (careful) clean must and then with fingertip oil should, because otherwise there are always black fingers. After cleaning everything is wonderful. Then you can mention that the plywood body is very light and the guitar would like to tip to the maple neck. But is not a problem for me.

Lastly the most important, the sound: He is really very good and I'm baffled! So you do not need any other pickups or so, no the guitar is just as she comes ready and can be old with her owner. ;-)

Lastly, I hope that I do not have a guilty conscience because of the price, because I wonder who deserves the instrument and what deserved it was fair. Hopefully no wishful thinking.

Thanks for the guitar to the Thomann team

I'm torn

Wolfgang764, 12.12.2011
Unpacking was my first thought: Wow! What would I have given 25 years ago for the money to get a useful electric guitar. China makes it possible.

But wait! When playing, the price of low purchase costs is revealed: the neck is crooked and the factory setting can only be described as "random". The guitar was somehow mounted and perhaps "Pi-times-thumb" on sight. The string position is much too high, the rider settings do not follow a concept. Octave purity: Malfunction.
So first the thing apart screwed, the neck somewhat underlined, better strings on it and within the scope of the neck curvature the best possible (but by no means fully satisfactory) attitude made. With this compromise setting, the guitar can be used as a reserve in the pro-chamber (but not on the stage) or in the evenings on the couch.

The sound is acceptable in the face of the price. The pickups sound a bit thin and tend to be mics. The paintwork deserves a plus and in my opinion is even somewhat better than with my Fender Mexico Tele. The tuning mechanism of the A-string does not have a good synchronism. The neck feels really good, if it were not crooked. The guitar is feathery. Suspiciously light ...

69 euros is not a bad price if you have in the circle of acquaintances someone who breaks up the guitar first and stops. If you do not, then you should rather at least 100 euros drauflegen and the Squier grasp. You have to adjust it as a rule, but the substance has a completely different quality. Now I have a guitar for the evening on the sofa, but I am very happy to have much more valuable teles for the "real life".
