Great beginner instrument

Sebastian334, 04.03.2011
Now that I have a classic guitar guitar, an electro-acoustic guitar (a Musima Record, a legendary part from Markneukirchener GDR production) and a Fender Stratocaster (unfortunately only a Mexico model) my own, I'm on a whim Out an old dream fulfilled - an inexpensive western guitar for Lagerfeuer it should be. So I stole a while at Thomann and stumbled over the Harley Benton.

Just about all the evaluations had roughly the same core statement: light lacquer mallets, acceptable processing, in upper layers not one hundred percent bundrein, BUT - which is indeed for a music instrument the most important attribute is - an extraordinarily beautiful sound for this price.

So I let myself be guided by the opinion of the masses and ordered the instrument - and I must say that I do not regret it. On the contrary, I am immensely enthusiastic.

The reviews of other buyers I can confirm in all respects. The processing is definitely in order. Also my Benton has slight Lackmängel - however one sees the only, if one looks meticulously for it. At least they do not bother me, I call this a "character"! My beloved Musima is also not better varnished, and also my Mexico Strat points thus one or the other lack on ...

In the upper layers the Benton is actually not so completely bundrein, but also that moves still in a tolerable frame.

Much more important is nevertheless the question, how it is so on it plays and how it sounds, what rauskommt. And that really surpasses every expectation!

I have already had some guitars of this price class in my hand, and none of them would go beyond the classification "musical firewood". Accordingly, my expectations were not too high. What a brachial misjudgment!

She plays great, sounds great and looks great. I'm really happy!

Conclusion: A great beginner model at an unbeatable price!

The cruel Oberhammer!

Hrothgar, 07.10.2012
Actually, I would never buy a guitar on the Internet for nearly 80EUR, which I have not even played before. I have at least minimal quality requirements. Now it was however, that a girlfriend of mine possessed this model, and I was the first to start but was positively surprised. My first reaction: "It was definitely expensive, was not it?"
Far from it, 79EUR had cost the good piece. Hardly at home again went to Thomann, the part had. A few days later came a huge package that was torn up with indescribable anticipation. The next thing was torn, the Harley Benton strings. Not once did I strike them, just cut through. Something just does not play. I finally ordered a set Martin M-535. So it was ready, and off we went. And quickly it turned out: What Harley Benton manufactures here is simply crass.

The sound is simply not normal for this class. She sings every chord as it is not found in the 250EUR models by Fender Squier & Co. by far. In a blind acoustic comparison, they would immediately be at least twice as expensive. Also my guitar teacher (real pro, to whom I a verdict), was totally surprised. He estimated the price after the first allusion to about 700EUR, at least. When I said that she had not cost 80EUR, he was just about to declare insane.
After prolonged use (about 8 months) it can be said, the sound remains and it will be synonymous for the next few years.

The processing is, of course, what is at the price something suffers. So it was already at the beginning the lacquer at the edge of the sound hole a bit peeled off, meanwhile show themselves below the strings (where electric guitars have the dashboard), already some scratches, but I give it indeed really ... with Michael Hedges begun .
What you can actually forget is the electronics. Easy to use, you can not expect from the price. But the belongs anyway with the micro.

Conclusion: Dear buyer, DAMN STILL, BUY THE PART! : D
