Harley Benton Dullahan-FT 24 BKS

Like a lot of people i was a bit sceptical about a headless guitar, but having lived with it for a while i think it's pretty cool now. As with all Harley Bentons i've tried the build quality is excellent. Sounds and playability are awesome. The finish is flawless. The satin black and maple neck are really nice. The Knobs and 5 way switch feel solid. The neck has no sharp edges and feels nice. Changing strings and adjusting the setup looks complicated, but is not. There are a couple of excellent Thomann videos on YT that covers everything you need to know regarding string changes and setup. Overall great value considering the price, plus you get a nice gigbag as well.

Flaws all over the place. Pots are loose. Bridge is not grounded. Action is high enough to put a pencil under. Bridge design is terrible. You loosen the set screws on the side then you "should" be able to spin the brass saddles up and down. Tool was not included and is not something that can be bought. 2 of my saddles are seized and will not turn. The manufacturer of the bridge refuses to help. And now i'm battling with Thomann to get help and that has been like pulling teeth. I highly recommend skipping this guitar

A compact, light and comfortable piece of gear. Great setup out of the box in my case, nice gigbag by the way. Tuning stability and fret job are impressive. The sound itself is very resonant, the roswell humbuckers have a nice PAF sound. In my opinion, the strings retention on the neck needs an upgrade, just because sometimes they cut my new strings if I am not careful.
In conclusion, this is an insane guitar for the price, great Harley Benton and Thomann. Thanks

Nachtrag 10.08.2021: leider stelle ich Mängel fest:
- Die Brücke war nicht geerdet, so dass massive Mikrofonie auszuhalten war. Grund war der Lack zwischen Erdungskabel und Brücke, so wie zwischen Brücke und Reiter.
- Die Gewinde der Stellschrauben zur Einstellung der Saitenhöhe sind von den kleinen Madenschrauben vermurkst (nicht von mir, das hat jemand getan, bevor ich die Gitarre bekam)
- Der Bereich um die Saitenlage einzustellen ist beschränkt und befindet sich in einer nicht so nützlichen Lage.
- Die Buchse für das Gitarrenkabel war locker
Mag ich die Gitarre dennoch? JA!

Alt: Diese Gitarre fässt sich gut an, lässt sich toll spielen, ist ausbalanciert, war perfekt eingestellt, sieht besser aus als auf den Bildern, Knöpfe aus Metall, tolle Bünde und Hals und die verbauten Mechaniken: Ein Schmaus, verglichen mit denen eines schwedischen Herstellers von Headlessguitars...: Butter weich (!) und halten die Stimmung. Der Body ist nun an den richtigen stellen dünner. Ich mag ihren Klang für Rock, Blues, Jazz, Folk u.Ä.. Einzig ein klitzekleiner Schnitzer im Kopfbereich, der mit etwas Holzkleber nachgebessert zu sein scheint und ein klein wenig schiefe Potis trüben. Aber: Aus meiner Sicht alles richtig gemacht. Und das alles für 438€ im Juli 2020. Super! Möchte man die sonst gute mitgelieferte Tasche nicht benutzen: Die "Thomann Short Scale EGuitar Gigbag Eco" passt nur knapp. Nicht in der Länge, da wäre noch Spielraum, sondern im Bereich des Horns. Mitgeliefert bekommt man sogar noch das notwendige Werkzeug zum Einstellen. .Und noch das: Weil ich selbst gerne das Gewicht bei Gitarren hier bei Thomann gelistet sehen würde: Meine wiegt 2.73 kg. Wenn man es noch nicht bemerkt haben sollte: Ich empfehle sie wärmstens.
