Beautiful, sounds good, needs some work.
Zelgares, 26.08.2020
The guitar is great for the price but needs some work.
In my copy, I grinded a drop of paint under the pickup frame, which interfered with a snug fit.
The frets bite a little. And they have small irregularities that I can eliminate, since I have experience in grinding frets, the problem is not significant and does not interfere with using the guitar, if you do not lower the strings below 1.5 mm, nothing rings. Although I love to bring my guitars to perfection.
In terms of sound and sustain, the guitar is excellent for that kind of money. Perfect for those who love ac / dc sound.
For metal, I would recommend changing the pickups to more powerful ones.
The sound is very clear.
I do not have enough push-pull potentiometers, I will add it myself.
I will also add a 3rd potentiometer for 2 volumes and 1 tone.
The anchor adjusts the neck perfectly.
The guitar is all screened with graphite.
Tuners are good, but it is better to change them to lock tuners.

WOW!
The Rock Guy, 09.09.2020
This is my 2nd Harley Benton and once again I'm blown away by the quality, sound and play-ability if this guitar. I own 2 SG's from the big G and I would put this up against them any day of the week. Incredible quality, set up out of the box is perfect and the fit and finish is amazing. I will continue to buy these guitars for as long as they are available.

Extreme value for money!
20.01.2016
This isn't my first Harley Benton instrument so I already had an idea about the quality, especially of the upper tier of HB instruments, but still, a guitar that good for such little money never ceases to surprise!

I've bee playing for more than 15 years and, compared to my early days, these new cheap guitars are light years ahead in terms of build quality, features and quality control. And since HB is Thomann's in-house brand, you get a lot more bang for your buck!

First off, the guitar is stunning. Simply beautiful and built extremely well. Finish is nice and smooth everywhere. I've looked thoroughly but could not find runs, hairs or any imperfections in the finish whatsoever.
It is also put together excellently. There are no crooked or loose screws, no gaps anywhere, no badly cut plastics, everything is just smooth and nice.

The hardware's really good, as well. The bridge, while not extremely substantial, is really solid and works well. Same goes for the tuners. Solid, steady and smoothly progressive. Combined with a perfectly cut nut, the guitar just needs a tune and it's ready to play.
The action can get ridiculously low without buzzing, dead frets and the such.
The pots are equally good. Nothing extremely fancy, granted, but functional and solid.
Only con I found was a slightly higher fret, nothing a couple of taps with a hammer can't solve!

Sound is also very nice. The Wilkinson pickups are spot on on that classic rock crunch and work well in any situation. Of course, rock and metal are in its wheelhouse but you can get some pretty full, round cleans as well. Not bad!
If I could gripe on about one thing, that would be the 24 frets that place the neck pickup closer to the bridge and the difference in tone isn't that drastic. But that's just nitpicking, to be honest.

Summing up, this is a beautiful guitar for very little money and I can't really find a single thing wrong with it. It's a highly recommended buy, worth every penny! For beginners and... financially challenged pros alike!

Great buy - If you're hesitating, don't!
Conn, 09.09.2018
I doubt you'll find greater quality in a guitar in this price range - a short disclaimer, I never leave a review unless I am stunned with a product.

First, the features, Grover locking tuners and a graphtech nut lend superbly to this guitar's tuning stability, the guitar was shipped in only around 7 business days - being in New Zealand, that's stunning! The guitar arrived in tune from a summer country into one that is 9 degrees C, which says a lot about how stable it feels, the hardware is a nice gold colour, complementing the white, and looks a tinge off the darker colour id want - which is more like what the tuners exhibit, but I guess it will age in time, as for its construction, both the bridge and t-o-m style bar feel very robust. Feels like a real instrument.

Sound: this thing is very playable, a thinner neck than I expected slightly thicker than what a JEM would have, came in set a little too low in the action which caused some tiny buzzing , but no dead spots, and perfect intonation, nothing to complain about there. The roswell pickups are a step above the usual OEM pickups you'd find on something else in this price range, as well as the fact it was shipped with D'Darrios sweetening the deal.

Electronics: the pickups were described above but the potentiometers and the switch feel solid, the jack was a little tight but that has been remedied after a few ins-n-outs .

Neck: I always think the most important part of a guitar is the neck - if it's impossible to play then why bother, this guitar's neck came shipped with the newer roseacer fretboard and it seems to be a step up over what I understand were 'ebonol' fretboards, the wood feels robust and looks almost ebony-like with its darkness, a definite plus. The wood feels a little dry and like it needs rehydration with some oil, but otherwise it's awesome. There are smudge marks from the factory up and down the binding but a few passes with a fingernail managed to clean most of them off.
The fretwork - for a guitar in this range- is absolutely stunning, I've played 1000 dollar guitars that didn't have fretwork comparable to this guitar, up and down the neck is a breeze. The 13" radius is something to get accustomed to but after a while is perfectly fine. Lastly the inlays are a type of synthetic material, however usually on these budget models (like my Epi LP) they're a bright and shiny obviously plastic looking material, on this DC Custom they're kind of like an aged abalone look, which really adds to the classiness of the gold and white.
As for the cons.
There were a few blemishes, small errors in the 'binding' and a corruption of the rhombus decal, but overall this guitar is stunning value for the money , and I'd rock it anywhere, the pickups may have to go in the future but there's no rush, there's also an issue with the neck adapting to my climate, as the truss rod does not want to move at all, either this is something that will loosen over time or it's overtightened and un-useable, let's hope it's the former!

Thanks for the quality guitar, Thomann!
Big shout out to my contact; Aleksejs Lisovecs who was prompt in replying to assuage my fears on the shipping time - which turned out to be faster than average anyway.
