Haken Audio Continuum Half size, only happiness!
29.07.2016
I had been looking for a keyboard for a long time which would allow me a great expressivity as well as unusual sounds. Here I am!
Characteristics:
This instrument is a keyboard consisting of a foam surface which allows the control of the sound (pitchbend, formants, velocity, aftertouch, among others) thanks to the movement of the fingers in 3 directions: laterally, from front to back, (Pressure). The expressive sound and feel to the touch are fabulous! It is equipped with a sound synthesis engine which allows to create, model and store its own sounds, as well as a bank of predefined and modifiable internal sounds. MIDI plugs, AES3, headphones, audio. Stereo.
Quality:
Impeccable manufacture (the instrument is assembled by hand, with the greatest care). Sober design giving an impression of robustness.
Getting Started
Easy and intuitive. In addition, very clear instructions are provided. However, it is different from that of a regular keyboard. Playing "just" chords may seem delicate at first (precision required) but the "drift" is configurable, From equal temperament to microtonality. With a little practice one develops his own technique, because in this area everything still remains to be invented (fingerings, positions and techniques of play ...). Excellent in terms of expressiveness (very natural sounds).
Use:
It is an instrument capable of arousing unheard-of sound atmospheres (the appropriate term) and very varied. Some sounds also evoke very well some acoustic instruments "traditional" (winds, percussions). The possibilities seem endless, the only limit being the imagination of the user. A very good tool for a musical creation off the beaten track.
My opinion:
The price to pay for such a musical universe seems to me justified given the possibilities offered and in my case the addition has very quickly left room for addiction. It is the instrument of the future!
