I had already read the previous reviews and therefore for this price class unusually high expectations - Conclusion in advance: They were surpassed.
Processing: At first sight perfect (wait for the years). Sound: Very variable, actually depending on the amp for each stylistic very good. Sustain: Wow ... Neck / Fingerboard: Incredibly cuddly and also extremely relaxing for small hands. Design: Beautiful. Except for the silver poties - I will exchange on occasion for black transparent plastic pottery. This completes the design. Works: For the bin (at least for me).
Maybe you can get similar guitars for similar money - but I have not yet found comparable (eg, neck). And if you can fall in love with her ...? If I was not a positive outlier, I can only warmly recommend it to everyone.
Supplement 2012: I have the guitar now for a while and along with my FGN Neo Classic, she has risen as a counterpart to my favorite bunch. I changed the following: I have a Rockfield Mafia pickup imported from the USA and installed as a bridge pickup (which is also splittable) - with the result that every Paula is disappointed in the corner. This PU is made for this guitar and when you play it, the sun rises. She can then cleanly bring the most brutal clothes up to trance (secret tip center position SC) perfectly. Oh, and black, transparent poties make them look like a multi-thousand-euro-knock :-). The guitar with a Rockfield Mafia on the bridge is just great for hard rock and metalclothes and with the original neck PU in combination with the mafia for blues, indie and all sorts of other stylistics just great. Maybe I exchange the neck-PU again against an SD, since it alone sounds somewhat lifeless. But that's the PU, not the guitar, as I've learned through the Mafia. The neck feels a bit like plastic, but it's very fast when you get used to it being very flat. I am still glad to have bought them. The price is in a positive proportion in no relation to the equivalent value.
I decided after a long research phase for the HAGSTROM ULTRA SWEDE and really made a hit in the black. I have to say in addition, that I was also well advised by the Thomann staff.
The guitar is excellently processed, looks great and is simply unbeatable from handling. The Pick Ups are exceptionally good for the price class and due to the possibility to split the humbuckers very versatile.
I do not think that one gets in this price category something comparable. Meanwhile, my Yamaha and Ibanez dusts guitars, because I instinctively intervene again and again to the Ultra Swede. The part is really the hammer - every Les Paul-interested should play the guitar times, before for a "stripped down" Gibson or similar. Decides
