Such a great instrument
billy bob 08.08.2019
This arrived in perfect condition and was already setup ready to go, I put some locking tuners on and changed the strings to a gauge I prefer and, well this is such a great guitar.
It’s a nice weight, feels substantial without being an anchor. Necks not too thick, sort of cross between 60s les Paul and an older style tele, quite comfortable in the hand and not fatiguing when playing stuff like bar chords etc. Lovely finish. The colour is much nicer in real life than in the photos, its not so yellow gold, very classy in-fact, hardware is nice, well built, chrome well finished, nut is cut properly, not sure the material but it’s not worth changing as it does its job very well. Frets are level, fret ends are well finished, nothing sharp although the fret board was quite dry so worth an oil, (12” radius) incidentally I wasn’t sure what the walnut board was going to be like and I think it’s a surprisingly nice alternative to rosewood, prefer it to pau ferro once its oiled.
But it’s the pickups that I got this Gretsch for, and they are great. sort of modern and old fashion all at the same time so they’re sort of doing their own thing and that’s really pleasing to the ear. Great for bluesy stuff, great for jazz, great for country great for pub pop tunes, both ballads and quick stuff. Sits in a mix so neatly (especially with single coils) and great live through my Vox-ac30, nice clean and nice overdriven, (although its happier with classic overdrive rather than very hot modern distortion tones, that’s just my ears though, I guess it could djent at a push lol).
The main issue I have now is that I can’t find a case it will fit in properly. Its too wide for the normal single-cut cases so for now I’ve put it in a semi-hollow case, it’s a bit lose but I’ve just stuffed some random padding in it and it make do for now
So that’s my recommendation, its not a lot of money for a great axe, defiantly give it a go id say

JT
Almost perfect.
Jeff The Fish 23.05.2021
Well I love this guitar. It simply sounds great, and the finish and detail is perfect. The only problem which stopped it getting full marks was the tuners that wouldn't stay in tune and clicked and clanked. I had to replace them (Gotoh SG381-20 Tuners 3L/3R C - easy to replace simply unscrew the originals and drop these in - took 20 mins) and now its fine. It looks and sounds great. Even with the extra €38 I had to spend on the new tuners its an amazing guitar for the money.

Premium Guitar For Budget Money
KMickP 12.01.2021
After a lot of research, I decided to buy this Gretsch as I have never had one but like the sound and look of the Jet. So with expectation set accordingly, when it arrived I was genuinely blown away by the quality fit and finish as well as the perfect set up right out the box, when I plugged it in it was even better! I have been buying guitars for over 40 years & I have many which cost 5 times what this one cost but this is the best value ever, it’s not only good for the price, it’s a great guitar period.

Pros
Quality fit and finish, the guitar looks fantastic!
Electric components feel like good quality, smooth action etc
Set up and action was perfect ( if you like action low but buzz free!)
The sound is exactly what you expect from a Gretsch, great pickups. Really resonant.
Stays in tune
Lighter weight due to chambered body

Cons
None whatsoever!

It this guitar had been twice the price I would be saying the same things, so buy one before Gretsch realise! Seriously you will not be disappointed

Outstanding!
Kuze 18.01.2021
Outstanding straight out of the box. All it needs is to be tuned and you're away. Sounds brilliant and the action on it is fantastic.
One of the best built guitars I have ever played. And at this price, it is an absolute steal. Amazing. Feels like it should be at least 3 times the price.
